Hike to the summit of Baegundae, the highest peak in Seoul
(Schedule and route can be adjusted)
What makes it special:
Start early in the morning to enjoy a peaceful and quiet hike, away from the crowds.
Total duration: About 4.5 hours
Climbing Bukhansan can be challenging. The Bukhansan Rescue Team reports that someone gets lost every week, usually foreign tourists. But don’t worry — an expert guide will accompany you for a safe and smooth experience.
Guest Notes:
- Moderate fitness is required. Some hiking experience or good physical condition is recommended.
- No need for professional hiking gear, but wear supportive shoes (hiking boots are ideal).
- The trail is 3.5 km (2.17 miles) one way, with a 530 m (1,740 ft) elevation gain — about the same as climbing 200 floors — so expect a steady uphill hike.
We will meet outside Exit 2 of Bukhansan Ui Station.
The highest peak in Seoul, Mt. Bukhan (836m, 2,743 feet) We will take the shortest route to reach the peak. The tour will take a total of 5 hours from meet-up to the end. However, the tour may take a bit longer depending on each group's hiking pace.
A small but beautiful temple, where only two monks live.
