What to expect
The trail to be covered covers a distance of 22 km, which involves a walk of around 8-9 hours. The first 20 minutes pass on flat terrain until we cross a suspension bridge, at which time we will prepare to ascend for 2 hours until we reach the Chilean Refuge. From this point, we offer the possibility of refilling our water bottles in streams, rivers and waterfalls, since the water comes directly from the glacier and is filtered naturally.
The trail continues for 1 hour through a forest of lengas and ñirres until reaching the beginning of the glacial moraine, a section that represents the greatest challenge but also the final stage to reach the base of the Towers. Here you can enjoy the view, have lunch and hydrate before beginning the return along the same path until returning to the welcome center.
