It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656 and inaugurated by its first imam, Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukhari. Situated in the Mughal capital of Shahjahanabad (today Old Delhi), it served as the imperial mosque of the Mughal emperors until the demise of the empire in 1857. The Jama Masjid was regarded as a symbolic node of Islamic power across India, well into the colonial era. It was also a site of political significance during several key periods of British rule. Qutub Minar

Qutab Minar is a soaring, 73-meter-high tower of victory, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak immediately after the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu kingdom. The tower has five distinct storeys, each marked by a projecting balcony that tapers from a 15-meter diameter at the base to just 2.5 meters at the top. The first three storeys are made of red sandstone; the fourth and fifth storeys are made of marble and sandstone. At the foot of the tower is the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the first mosque to be built in India. An inscription over its eastern gate provocatively informs us that it was built with material obtained from demolishing '27 Hindu temples'. A 7-meter-high iron pillar stands in the courtyard of the mosque. It is said that if you can encircle it with your hands while standing with your back to it, your wish will be fulfilled. The sightseeing finishes at 6:00 p.m. Overnight stay in the Delhi Hotel.

The mahal has a total of 953 small casements, each with a small lattice-worked pink window, balconies, and arched roofs with hanging cornices. This allows cool breezes to blow through the mahal and keep it cool and airy in the summer. Despite the large number of windows, each of them is the size of a peephole, so the royal ladies were not to be seen by the public.
