  Shinkyo Bridge 10:30am Shinkyo Bridge (神橋, Shinkyō), which means "Sacred Bridge," is one of the most famous and picturesque bridges in Japan, Shinkyo Bridge is part of Futarasan Shrine (二荒山神社), a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deities of Nikkō’s three sacred mountains—Mount Nantai, Mount Nyoho, and Mount Taro. The bridge marks the entrance to the sacred area leading up to the shrine. The current bridge was built in 1636 during the Edo period, Shinkyo Bridge is especially beautiful during the autumn months, when the surrounding trees burst into vibrant red and orange foliage. The backdrop of the forested mountains and the clear waters of the river make it one of Japan’s most photographed spots. In winter, snow-capped trees add to the serene and magical atmosphere, while in spring and summer, the lush greenery enhances the sense of peace and natural beauty.   Chuzenji 01:00pm Lake Chūzenji is a beautiful scenic lake located in Nikkō, Lake was formed about 20,000 years ago when nearby Mount Nantai, an active stratovolcano, erupted, blocking the Daiya River. The volcanic dam created this naturally occurring lake, which sits at an altitude of 1,269 meters (4,163 feet), making it one of Japan’s highest lakes. crystal-clear waters and mountainous surroundings make it one of the most picturesque spots in the Nikkō region. On the northern shores of Lake Chūzenji are two former embassy villas that have been converted into memorial parks. The British Embassy Villa Memorial Park and the Italian Embassy Villa Memorial Park offer a glimpse into Japan’s diplomatic history and provide fantastic views of the lake. Autumn & Summer is the most popular time to visit Lake, In winter, the area is much quieter, but the snowy landscapes and frozen Kegon Falls create a magical atmosphere.

It is a former imperial residence that is rich in history, blending traditional Japanese architecture with modern Western influences. The villa was originally built in 1899 during the Meiji era as a retreat for the Japanese imperial family. It was used by several emperors, including Emperor Taisho and Emperor Showa (Hirohito), as a summer residence. The building incorporates parts of an earlier Edo-period mansion from Tokyo, which belonged to the Tokugawa family. Over time, it was expanded to create the grand villa you see today. During World War II, it served as a refuge for members of the imperial family who sought safety away from Tokyo.
