Dallol sits at an elevation of about 130 meters below sea level, making it one of the lowest points on the planet. The area is characterized by its colorful and otherworldly landscapes, with vibrant mineral deposits, hot springs, and salt formations. The temperatures in Dallol can reach extreme levels, with average daily highs of around 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) and sometimes even exceeding 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit).
