The National museum stands a treasure trove of the nation's history and culture. We will be encountering exhibitions that showcase the nation's rich cultural heritage, from its pre-colonial origins to it resilience to imperialism and colonial rule.
Kwame Nkrumah memorial park and mausoleum which is the final resting place of Ghana's first president. The park is surrounded by green vegetations which are trees planted various dignitaries who has visited the park in the past.
On this site we will catch the glimpse of the history at the Independence Square and educate ourselves with how Ghana got its Independence from the British. Take breathtaking pictures with the Independence Arc and other historical monuments at the square.
For the pan African enthusiast, we will visit the Du Bois center and learn about a man who dedicated his life to liberating the black race. The mausoleum which is his final resting place used to be his home until his death but know it has been converted a museum where people from all over the world come and study
Today we will travel to the Shai hills after breakfast which is 1hr drive from our hotel. upon arriving at the reserve we will be greeted by fascinating Baboon Monkeys, the reserve house wild life like Antelopes, Zebras Ostrich and other animals. We will explore the ancestral home of the Shai people by visiting the ancient capes which used to be homes to the Shai people.
We will have a bead making workshop at the Cedi beads factory at Somanya. We will have the opportunity to learn how to make this ancient handcraft and make our own designs
Today we will have a scenic drive to Kumasi the capital of the Ashanti kingdom.
We will make a stop at Linda Dor restaurant and rest stop for snacks. We will visit the Bonwire kente weaving village, Ntonso Adinkra and then continue to our hotel
Today after breakfast we will begin our cultural expedition and Visit the Manhyia palace museum. The museum is the headquarters of the Ashanti kingdom where the Ashantehene rules the kingdom from.
Our journey will continue to the kumasi cultural center and we will visit the Prempeh museum and learn about one of the fearless Kings of the Ashanti people.
We will visit the biggest open market in West Africa and witness the traditional and the powerful women enterprises controlling the market.
Komfo Anokye sword site will immerse us to history behind the formation on the Ashanti Kingdom.
After breakfast we will travel to explore the colonial past of Ghana by visiting Cape Coast. We will make a stop at Assin Manso slave river (Donko Nsuo) where captured Africans were made to take their last bath before been matched on foot south of the river to the slave dungeons.
Assin manso slave river locally known as donko nsuo was a river where captured Africans were made to take their supposed last bath before being matched to slave dungeons south of the river. The site now is an ancestral home and final resting to three African Americans where there remains has been buried.
Today we will traverse the colonial city of Cape Coast and visit the Elmina slave Castle which was built by the Portuguese 1482, it was built as a lodge and trading post but it was later expanded to house captured Africans.
We will continue our journey and visit Cape Coast castle which was build by the Swedish Africa company for timber and gold trade but it was later used as a slave dungeon during the Atlantic slave trade.
We will drive through the fish market in Elmina
We will visit Kakum National park enroute to Accra. We will experience a canopy walk at the park.
Journey back to Accra
Aburi botanical garden will be our destination after breakfast.
We will have a traditional cooking class in the afternoon.
We will go out for for shopping at the art center cultural market.
We will head to the Diamond house for gold and jewelry shopping.
