If short on time in Rome this should be the best way of doing it. In one of our best walking tours our official tour guides will reveal you who founded Rome, the meaning and the importance of an amphitheatre in the empire, about the origin and the evolution of the venations and the Munera Gladiatoria where thousands of wild animals were captured and trained gladiators were offering public entertainments. At the end of the tour, your guide will accompany you to the entrance of the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill and there you can explore the area on your own. Please bring water, comfortable shoes and clothes and get ready to be transported back in time!

At the end of the guided tour of the colosseum, you will be accompanied to another significant attraction, the Roman Forum, initially a marshy area that later was transformed in a meeting place where political, religious and commercial buildings were built, nothing else but the center of the ancient Roman empire. You will explore the area on your own and without any extra cost because the entrance ticket is included in the initially price.

Another attraction to be explored on your own and without any extra cost, will be the Palatine Hill, the site upon which, Rome or Caput Mundi, was founded. You will admire hundred of ruins of impressive ancient buildings like Domitian Palace, The Iron Age Hut foundations, rests of temples like Magna Mater, Apollo, The House of Augustus and his wife Livia, The spectacular Farnese Gardens. Remember that from the Palatine Hill you can have the best view of the Roman Forum, as well, and why not, the best pictures!
