After breakfast, drive to Andasibe located in the east of the island. Stop at Marozevo, visit to the reptile and butterfly park “Madagascar Exotique” to admire chameleons of all colors, amphibians and crocodiles….
On arrival in Andasibe, visit the Vakona private reserve to observe several species lemurs up close. A unique and shared experience.
Discovery of the Analamazaotra special reserve which is home to the Indri Indri, the largest lemur in Madagascar, several other species of lemurs, birds, reptiles and amphibians. This humid and evergreen forest is also famous for its hundreds of species of orchids which flower in November and December. Return to Antananarivo.
After breakfast, drive to Antsirabe in the splendor of the central highlands. Rice fields and thatched roof houses form the landscape. Stop at Behenjy to taste the foie gras. Arrival in Antsirabe, visit to the spa town with the possibility of a rickshaw ride.
Road to Ranomafana with a stop at Ambositra, capital of Malagasy crafts whose art of working with wood is classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. Visit to artisanal wood carving shops. Continuation of the road while admiring a spectacular landscape.
After breakfast, visit the Ranomafana National Park for approximately 3 or 4 hours, depending on your physical condition. In Malagasy, “Rano” means water and “Mafana” means hot. Located southeast of Fianarantsoa, Ranomafana National Park covers an area of approximately 41,600 hectares and has a dry climate. The park was established in 1991 and is home to flora and fauna with rare species including lemurs. Road to Fianarantsoa, known as the capital of the Betsileo ethnic group.
Road to Ambalavao known for its Betsileo veranda houses with balustrades. Visit to an Antemoro paper factory, papers made from plant fibers and decorated with flowers. Continue south. Stop at the Anja reserve managed by the local population where the ring-tailed lemurs are easily observed. Walk in this small reserve through caves, mountains, its plant species with unusual shapes.
Hike in the Isalo National Park with its splendid panoramas of eroded massifs dating from the Jurassic period. Erosion has carved out sandstone massifs with ruiniform relief varying from 800 to 1,240 meters above sea level. During the visit, you will observe a dry thorny forest and an African savannah, habitat of some species lemurs, reptiles and birds.
After breakfast, drive to Ilakaka, the city of sapphires. Gem showroom visit. Continuation towards Tuléar. The first baobabs appear. Visit the Antsokay arboretum, a botanical garden bringing together more than a hundred plant species typical of this dry region. Lizards, turtles radiated, ring-tailed lemurs (lemur catta) are to be appreciated.
Canoe ride to the village of Mangily then stroll to the baobab forest.
Walk in a typical southern forest by zebu cart. (approximately 2h30)
Transfer to Tuléar airport then flight to Antananarivo with Tsaradia.
Transfer at the airport for the return flight to Paris.
