Korean Drumming Lessons on Maui

We're Maui's only multicultural dance and arts center providing an inviting way to experience Hawai'i's heritage. This class is geared to beginners of all ages; and is fun, friendly class welcoming to everyone, visitors and kama 'aina and all ages. This class is lead by our highly experienced instructors. You'll leave knowing more about Korean Culture and the Korean migration to Hawai'i during the Plantation Era of the early 1900's and its influence on Hawaiian life. Classes at Wonderful World of Aloha also include complimentary entrance to our unique "Migrations" galleries that present the story of the centuries of migrations to Hawai'i through dance costumes, implements and instruments.

What to expect

This is a unique opportunity to explore Korean Drumming. You'll spend an hour with our expert instructors learning the history and significance of the Buk. You'll learn the techniques, rhythms and theatrical movements. You'll also learn about the other drums used in Korean music and dance like the Janggo.
