Fuji is not just a mountain, but it has been a spiritual symbol for the Japanese for more than 1500 years. Japanese traditionally believed Mt. Fuji is itself a god, and built worship sites and shrines around it, made pilgrimage trips to the summit. We will first head to a panoramic view point in the morning, where you can see Mt. Fuji right in front of you, and lakes below. Then we explore the Aokigahara Forest, to experience the rich nature of Mt. Fuji.
In the afternoon, we will explore the cultural and historical aspects of Mt. Fuji, by visiting worship sites, Sengen Jinjya shrines, pilgrimage lava cave, etc. You will be provided with the academic and detailed explanations.

Breathtaking panoramic view. You will see Mt. Fuji right in front of you, Lakes, and the vast area of Aokigarara forest below. 15 min. walk to a hilltop.
We will explore the famous Aokigahara Forest, and visit some of the caves. You will see the beauty of the forest, and experience the "forest bathing".
The Narusawa Hyoketsu Ice Cave is located at the east entrance to the Aokigahara Jukai "sea of trees" forest, and is regarded as one of the tourist spots within the Fuji Five Lakes area that can be visited throughout the year.
We will visit the historical cave where Fuji-ko pilgrims paid homage before they started to climb Mt. Fuji. You will actually go inside the cave and have the spiritual experience.
Kitaguchi Hongu Sengen Jinjya shrine is one of the main sightseeing spots in the Mt. Fuji area, and it is truly majestic. But unfortunately, many people simply see only the surfaces of the shrine and miss the real significance. I will provide you with the detailed explanations of its history and cultural aspects so that you will understand the significance.
