    Villa Adriana in Tivoli is an imposing imperial residence built by the Roman emperor Hadrian between 118 and 138 AD.C., located near Tivoli, about 30 km DA Rome. It is one of the largest and most refined architectural complexes of Roman antiquity, covering about 120 hectares. The Villa combines elements of Roman architecture with Greek and Egyptian influences, reflecting the Emperor’s Trips and eclectic taste. Inside there are palaces, temples, theaters, spas, nymphaeums, gardens and fountains. Among the most famous structures are the Canopy, a long water basin inspired by Egypt, and the Maritime Theatre, an artificial island surrounded by a canal DAta. Since 1999 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its extraordinary historical, artistic and architectural importance.

    Villa d’Este is a splendid Renaissance residence located in Tivoli, built starting from 1550 by the will of Cardinal Ippolito II d’Este. It is famous all over the world for its extraordinary Italian gardens and magnificent monumental fountains, powered DA an ingenious hydraulic system without the use of pumps. The Villa is a masterpiece of the late Renaissance, with elegant frescoed rooms and a terraced garden full of water features, waterfalls, artificial caves and sculptures. Among the most famous fountains are the Ovato Fountain, the Neptune Fountain and the suggestive Organ Fountain, which really sounds thanks to the force of water. Since 2001 it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its beauty and the influence it has had on the art of European gardens.
