The pagoda was built in 1886 and named Dang Long Tu by the monk Thich Ngo Chi (1856-1935), whose dharma name was Pho Tri. The monk was from Vinh Xuong, Khanh Hoa Province. As a child, he participated in the resistance war against the French and then became a monk.
