A captivating full-day hike through the stunning Buda Hills awaits, where adventurers will traverse the majestic massif of Hármashatár Hill. Beginning at Húvösvölgyi út, this 16 km journey will lead you past the ruins of the Royal Hunting Castle and up to breathtaking lookouts like the Gückler Károly tower. With a total elevation of 745 meters, this trek requires good physical condition and promises a blend of natural beauty and historical insights, including visits to ancient sites and a bird-watching shelter. Prepare for an exhilarating day in nature, finishing at the Hűvösvölgy valley bus terminal around 5 p.m.

We will finish the hike 4 bus stops away from the starting point. So you will need to use public transport if you left your car at the starting point.
• Get dressed according to weather forecast. Raincoat, cap and sunscreen are useful and comfortable, closed shoes as well.

You can get to the meeting point with buses Nr. 29 ,129 to Szerb Antal utca station, or tram Nr. 56, 56A, 59B, 61 to Nagyhíd station. If you arrive by car, some parking place are usually available on Szerb Antal street or Fekete István street.

What to expect

We will go a 16 km long semicircle in the massif of Hármashatár Hill. After 8 km we will reach the highest point at the top of Hármashatár Hill. We will see interesting cliff, 100 years-old lookout building, we will climb a rocky hillside and descending into an abandoned stone pit, and see a cave which formed in dolomite.
