What to expect

Earthling will guide you on an incredible backcountry route that is scenic and calm. It begins from the street and ends at the top of Fløya, a local mountain that overlooks Tromsø. Along the way your guide will share fascinating knowledge about life in the Arctic, local history, culture and the environment.

Less frequented by tourists and even locals, the Earthling route offers a quieter way to enjoy Tromsø’s natural beauty and offers a chance at seeing wildlife such as reindeer, foxes, ptarmigan, hares and eagles.

At the peak you will be rewarded with a sandwich, a warm drink and a snack. Time to take photos of the sweeping views of the city below, the fjords and the surrounding mountains!

Next we’ll trek down to Fjellstua, a cafe where you can enjoy the comfort and satisfaction of a tasty dish. If you wish to purchase a one-way ticket to take the cable car the rest of the way down, Fjellheisen (cable car) is right here! From here it is also possible to descend by using the sherpatrappa (stairs). Otherwise we’ll continue on down to where we started the hike.

Now you've experienced authentic Norwegian Arctic!
