What to expect

In this class, you’ll learn how to prepare a traditional Japanese norimaki (sushi roll), one main side dish of your choice, a seasonal vegetable dish, and a comforting bowl of miso soup — all menus include these dishes.
The norimaki can be substituted with an onigiri (rice ball) if you prefer.

For the main side dish, please choose from:

Teriyaki Chicken – tender chicken glazed in a sweet and savory soy-based sauce

Saikyo Yaki – miso-marinated fish grilled for a rich, delicate flavor

Gyoza – pan-fried dumplings filled with ground pork and vegetables

We’ll begin by making dashi (Japanese soup stock) completely from scratch — a skill at the heart of Japanese home cooking and the secret to creating depth of flavor in everyday dishes.
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the warmth and balance of Japanese family meals while learning techniques you can easily recreate at home.

A vegetarian option is available upon request.
