We kick off your tour by discovering the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and exploring its capital city, Riyadh. First, we head to Diriyah, the place where it all started. About 300 years ago, the First Saudi State (the predecessor to modern-day Saudi Arabia) was initially established in Diriyah, the hometown of the Royal Family. During your tour of Diriyah (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), we stroll through its halls, explore historic buildings, and visit museums. Lunch is at the main courtyard, which is home to a variety of world-renowned restaurants. You also get the opportunity to buy souvenirs at one of the traditional shops there. As part of your entry ticket (which is covered in this tour), you get a $90 credit to spend at the al Bujairi Terrace.

The Najd/Najdi Village (al Qaryah al Najdiyah) is a local restaurant that serves authentic Saudi dishes. It is also famous for its architectural design that resembles a traditional Najdi town. While enjoying your meal, you may choose between dining like a local (while sitting on the floor and/or using your hands) or in a typical setting (on a table and chair and with a fork and knife).

At the souq, you will find a variety of cultural and historical collectables, including rare coins and paper currencies that are no longer in circulation, Arabic oud and incense, household items, musical instruments, and more. There is also a large auction of various local items that adds to the souq’s culturally authentic vibes.

The town has been renovated but maintains its original mud-built architecture, and visitors can walk through the homes, explore inside the buildings, and enjoy local restaurants and coffee shops. It’s about a two-hour drive north of Riyadh, making it a full-day experience.
