For the city your; you will begin with learnig the history of Kenyan coast with a visit to fort Jesus. A historic site which was built by the Portuguese in the year 1593 and designed by Italians. It was built to secure the safety of the Portuguese and faced a lot of attacks, standing the test of time to tell the tale. On this tour you will also visit, Old town, Spice Market, Akamba handcraft & the iconic Mombasa Tusks.
Pick up at 6:00 Am and Drive to Tsavo East National Park. The drive takes 3 hours, meaning you will arrive at 9:00AM. Spend the entire Morning spotting game, Tsavo is semi-arid to arid habitat, Fed by the confluence of Tsavo and Athi rivers, which go on to form Galan River. Apart from its wildlife attractions, you will also get to see the aforementioned Yatta Plateau on the horizon which is billed as the world’s largest lava flow Break for lunch at your hotel, followed by relaxation before embarking on your Afternoon Game Drive Appreciating Tsavo’s scenic views and the fact that it is a dry and unforgiving place where crowding into smaller spaces for access to water and habitat is common in the dry season. The centre has been ostensibly set up as a breeding centre for the endangered Rothschild giraffe, but now operates conservation/education programs. The centre has a raised platform where you can feed the gireffes letting you see up close, how they use their long prehensile tongues to remove leaves from prickly acacia branches.
Pick up at 8:00 Am and start your drive to Solio Reserve. On this drive you will get to see Kenya’s central region. This region forms the farmlands of Kenya, occupied by the freedom fighting, largest tribe in Kenya, the Kikuyus. The Drive takes 3 Hours. Meaning you will arrive in time for lunch and relaxation before your Evening game drive.
Set in the shadows of Mt Kenya and the Aberdare Mountain range, Solio Lodge is a safe haven for some of East Africa’s last remaining Rhino. The sanctuary covers 17,000 acres of the greater 45,000 acre ranch and holds around 150 white rhino and about 70 black rhino, a huge population meaning you are guaranteed phenomenal sightings of these endangered animals. As well as all the rhino there are also good sightings of Lion, Buffalo, zebra, impala, warthogs, waterbucks as well as a number of antelope and bird species.
Pick up 8:00 AM and drive north to Samburu National Reserve arriving shortly before noon for a short game drive as you head to your hotel for lunch. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive from 3:00 PM to dusk. The Reserve is a place of baked brown earth and parched vegetation, visit the Ewaso N’giro River which is surrounded by a permanent ribbon of green, with tamarinds, doum palms and acacia which provide respite from the sweltering sun. watch Elephant, buffalo and waterbuck frequent the woodland and Impala herds take shelter under the trees as Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe and gerenuk take a drink. Lion, leopard and cheetah can also be found here, while, up above, martial eagles, bateleurs and pygmy falcons patrol the skies.
This day will be spent exploring this amazing game reserve, with morning and Evening game Drives in search of the Samburu Five. Not only does Samburu Game Reserve host the renowned Big Five (lion, rhino, leopard, buffalo, elephant), it also accommodates what has come to be known as the Samburu 5. These animals are only found north of the equator in Samburu, Kenya and Maasai Steppe in Tanzania. Reticulated giraffes: Reddish brown in color, this giraffe has polygon patches drawn out in fine white lines. Long-necked gerenuks: This animal has an incredibly long neck and goes for days, even years without water. Grevy’s zebras: These zebras have a brown muzzle and white underbelly. Beisa oryx: The Beisa oryx has fringed ears and black marks on its face and upper legs. Somali ostriches: These ostriches have blue necks and legs. You can also visit Samburu villages & get a chance to interact with the colorful Samburu people in their traditional setting and experience their culture.
On this last day you will have a wakeup call at 6:00 AM, then proceed for an early morning game drive, which gives you a chance to spot the early morning Kills from the big five, after the drive return to the camp for your breakfast. There after leave and head to Ol Pejeta. You will arrive at your hotel in time for lunch followed short relaxation. Depart your hotel early in the evening for Ol Pejeta. You will start with the optional visit of the Last Northern White Rhinos at 3:00 PM followed by included visit of Baraka the Southern White Rhino. After the Rhinos, Enjoy your game drive late in to the evening. Your safari is sure to be thrilling as the conservancy is recognized as having a high density of wildlife per acre in addition to an experienced guide.
Early Morning departure to Lake Naivasha, Arriving at noon for a 1 hr. Boat Safari in search of Hippos and birdlife.
Lk. Naivasha harbor’s bird species that include kingfishers, pelicans, great cormorants, fish Eagles, Grey-backed fiscal, woodpeckers, shrikes and many more. Animals around the lake include waterbucks, impala, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, colobus monkeys and many more.
Morning Departure to Amboseli - the park with the largest elephant population. You will arrive in time for lunch, have lunch then rest up followed by an late evening game drive in search of the large elephant herds of Amboseli. On this day, you will visit observation hill and stay late to watch the shades of gold Amboseli sun set.
On this day you will also visit the observation Hill. This cone-shaped hill is situated in the Western part of the park and it is the only place where you can get out of your vehicle and take a walk. The hill has clear volcanic origin and was formed during Mt. Kilimanjaro activity in the Pleistocene; from up here, the view spans 360 degrees throughout the Park exposing its arid areas, marshes lands, lakes and if the day is clear, the view of Mt. Kilimanjaro to the South, is spectacular.
After Break Fast, you can enjoy a morning game drive or opt to visit the Maasai village. Visiting the village will allow you to experience the Maasai culture at its best. This experience is very interactive, and we hope you will dance and jump along. After the maasai village, you will depart for Tsavo West arriving in time for a noon game drive as you head to your hotel for lunch. Tsavo West is hilly and swampy and its inhabited by the red elephants, rhinos, Maasai giraffes, bush babies, kudus, hippos, leopards, cheetahs, buffalos, lions and numerous bird species such as the endangered Basra reed warbler.
On this day we will also visit the Mzima Springs and enjoy the relaxing, calm, peaceful and scenic surroundings. This heaven is a welcomed break from the red dust and heat of Tsavo National Park. Listen out for the Vervet monkeys and birds which you will definitely hear before seeing. Keep your eyes peeled for multi-coloured butterflies flitting through the trees, crocodiles stalking the banks as well as the resident hippos.
Visit the Shetani which means ‘devil’ in Kiswahili. When the locals first saw ‘fire’ erupting and ‘flowing’ on the ground some 500 years ago, they believed that it was the devil himself emerging from the earth. The Shetani black lava flow is 8 km long, 1.6 km wide and 5 meters deep. The sight is quite special and spectacular.
On this last day you will have a wakeup call at 6:00 AM, then proceed for an early morning game drive, which gives you a chance to spot the early morning Kills from the big five, after the drive return to the camp for your breakfast. There after leave and head back to Diani arriving in Diani at 2:00 PM for lunch and relaxion on the beach as you get ready for your flight back home.
