Your journey aboard a military-style vehicle begins in front of the striking Museum of the Second World War, a perfect venture point to dive into Gdansk’s wartime past, from the first shots fired at Westerplatte to the city’s occupation and eventual reconstruction.
We will pause at the poignant monument dedicated to Witold Pilecki who voluntarily went to Auschwitz-Birkenau to witness the Holocaust crimes.
Next, we’ll drive to the Monument to the Defenders of the Polish Post Office, marking one of the first battles of WWII in Europe.
The tour then pivots from the devastation of war to the seeds of liberation. We will drive to the legendary gate of Gdansk Shipyard in front of the European Solidarity Center.
The birthplace of the Solidarity movement features the powerful Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers, honouring those who sacrificed their lives in the fight against communist rule.
