What to expect

This gastronomic experience includes a food tasting workshop during which you will try some basic ingredients of the Greek cuisine: Olive oil, Olives, Greek yogurt, and honey. All these ingredients have been used for thousands of years by the Greeks.

The tour will start in a typical deli shop where you will taste some of the best Greek Cheeses and Cured meats (Charcuterie board). During this tasting workshop, you will try the famous ntakos (Greek rusks) combined with the Greek olive oil which is considered to be the best in the world. The tasting will be combined with Greek white and red wine made from local grape varieties and Tsipouro, a quintessential Greek spirit.

Last but not least, you will explore the central Food market of the city, where you will mingle with Athenians while they are doing their daily shopping. This is the center of the local culinary scene where you will find the best meat, fish, spices, herbs, nuts, fruits and vegetables offered by Greek farmers and sellers. During the visit to the central market you will learn more about the ingredients used by locals but also recipes and dishes that make the Greek cuisine so famous around the world.
