This 5-day camping safari offers the perfect blend of adventure, nature, and wildlife discovery across Tanzania’s most iconic parks — Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire. Each park showcases unique landscapes and animal behavior, from flamingo-filled lakes to lion-stalked plains and elephant herds beneath giant baobabs. What truly sets it apart is the immersive camping experience — falling asleep to the sounds of the wild, guided by expert local safari guides who bring every sighting and story to life. It’s an authentic journey into the heart of Africa’s wilderness.
Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your Arusha accommodation and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This compact yet diverse park is home to flamingos, over 500 bird species, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Enjoy beautiful scenery ranging from grassy plains to woodlands and baobab-covered cliffs. Dinner and overnight at Panorama Camp.
Day 2: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park After breakfast, drive up the crater highlands and stop at the rim for a breathtaking view of the Ngorongoro Crater. Continue onward as the vast Serengeti stretches endlessly before you. The name “Serengeti” means “endless plains,” and this 18,000 sq km park is home to over two million wildebeest. From January to April, it becomes a birthing ground for wildebeest calves, along with countless zebras and Thomson’s gazelles. Large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas follow this migration in search of prey. You may also spot smaller animals like rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares along the way.
Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Start your day very early with a morning safari before breakfast to catch the animals when they’re most active and to witness a breathtaking African sunrise over the savannah — one of the most unforgettable sights in Africa. After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater, home to nearly every species of wildlife found in East Africa, including the rare black rhino. The crater boasts the highest density of animals anywhere on the planet, with rivers, swamps, a soda lake filled with flamingos, forests, and open grasslands. Look out for massive bull elephants with huge tusks, nourished by the crater’s mineral-rich soil. Upon arrival at the crater rim, enjoy spectacular views of this 600-meter-deep natural wonder before spending the night at a basic fixed tented camp.
Day 4: Ngorongoro – Tarangire National Park After breakfast, depart from Ngorongoro and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large herds of elephants and majestic baobab trees. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, explore the park’s seasonal swamps, vast savannas, and the Tarangire River, where you can spot zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and giraffes. You may also witness lions stalking their prey or leopards resting in the acacia trees above. Dinner and overnight at Fanaka Camp.
Day 5: Tarangire – Arusha After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive in Tarangire National Park before beginning your journey back to Arusha. Have lunch en route as you pass through scenic landscapes and Maasai villages. Arrive in Arusha in the late evening and be dropped off at your hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable 5-day Tanzania camping safari.
