This Lutheran church is renowned for its spectacular original frescoes, covering over 20 square meters, which depict biblical scenes in vibrant colors. • Explore the village and observe the traditional way of life, where locals continue to cultivate their land and practice old crafts.

    Biertan Fortified Church

    Biertan – A UNESCO Heritage Site & Former Bishopric Is one of the most remarkable Saxon villages in Transylvania and a UNESCO World Heritage Site Main Attractions: • Biertan Fortified Church: The church dates back to the 15th century and was built on a hill to provide better defense It served as the seat of the Lutheran bishopric for over 300 years, making it one of the most significant places in the Transylvanian Saxon world. • Sacristy Door: One of the most famous features of Biertan’s church is its sacristy door. This unique locking system has 16 different locks, making it a masterpiece of medieval craftsmanship. The door was designed to keep the valuables inside the church safe from thieves, and it remains a symbol of the village's historic importance. • Biertan Village: The village itself is incredibly charming, with colorful houses and cobblestone streets that give it an authentic medieval feel.
