Element by Marriott Detroit at the Metropolitan

It was very nice and comfortable

Location was convenient for our time in Detroit. The room was large for our group of four. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was also excellent.

The location is perfect. Very close to multiple popular Detroit venues. Historic buildings with great bars and food. Many other restaurants and bars right outside your door. Highly recommend.

This is a fantastic hotel and would have received 5 stars if not for breakfast issues. More on that later.
This is an old remodeled building that is beautiful. They have photos of the remodel process which are worth checking out. Our room was plenty big and comfortable. There is downtown noise and they provide ear plugs but we didn't need them.
It's an easy walk to the baseball stadium, which is why we were there.
You can park off site for much less than the hotel charges.
As for breakfast - they have no hot decaf beverages available. They offered to brew "a cup" of coffee, but I wanted more than that and my husband would drink it, too. All the teas have caffeine. The decaf in the room is awful.
They have a good omelet bar that wasn't open our last morning. Why not?
There was a convention for Ford salespeople staying there and they had their own dedicated eating area. But they didn't use it. They took up the few tables in the breakfast area. They were loud and pretty obnoxious. We dreaded going down for breakfast.
The fitness center is very nice.
We stayed at another downtown Element in another city a few ago that was awful all around - tiny rooms, rude staff, terrible breakfast set up. This place is so nice, but they need to work on the breakfast problems.
Their Relax happy hour wasn't much. Some wine out of a machine, a slab of cheese and a few slices of bread.

Great location near everything downtown. Refurbished old building with great architecture but modern rooms making a perfect atmosphere of old and new. Will definitely come back.

Wow he had a great hotel. Totally shocked we how beautiful Detroit is. This hotel is perfect location. Easy walk to see Canada. Easy walk to all the best places for shopping and eating. Convenient to everything. Room was huge and reasonably priced.

The Hotel has been lovingly restored and has some very nice design features throughout. - so if you want to see Detroit's revival this is the spot. Staff are welcoming and knowledgable about the city offering good recommendations for food and drinks. The Hotel is clean and rooms are modern and luminous with a nice skyline view.

Very comfortable room, absolutely gorgeous building, good breakfast, plus incredibly walkable location equals a perfect stay. View from our room was a bonus!

Best place in Motor City! Convenient to everything! Walking distance to all the arenas, tons of restaurants and bars! Amazing room in fabulous hotel. Breakfast buffet is always good.

Beautiful hotel in fantastic location. Easy walk to Comerica park and little ceasars arena, as well as very good area restaurants. The hotel itself was comfortable, quiet and front desk staff extremelywelcoming

The location, the building's esthetic and historical feel. The speed of the elevator was quick and smooth. The staff we encountered was very nice and professional.

Location was great within walking distance of many stores and restaurants, and safe. Room was gorgeous, huge, extremely clean, quiet. Overall I feel like the value of the room was fair given the location and allowance of dogs on premise. Friendly service. Atmosphere very chic. Wish we could have experienced the rooftop and some more of the hotel’s amenities… maybe next time!

Daniel and John were great! Efficient, welcoming and fun!!!!! Loved the studio room. Spacious and very clean ! Great breakfast in the morning. Loved the cheese and olives that were available from 5-630.
