Really enjoyed my stay at The Milestone Hotel in Thamel. The location is perfect — right in the heart of Kathmandu, making it super easy to explore everything the city has to offer.
The airport pickup was a lovely touch and made the arrival so smooth and stress-free. Little extras like complimentary water bottles really go a long way and were much appreciated!
The front desk team were attentive and always on hand whenever needed. A special mention has to go to Pragadh — he was genuinely lovely, warm and helpful throughout my entire stay. He made the whole experience feel personal and welcoming rather than just another hotel check-in.
I stayed one night at The Milestone Hotel and had a really pleasant experience. The location is very strategic, right in the heart of , but slightly tucked inside a small alley. This makes it a great choice if you want to stay central while still enjoying a quieter atmosphere away from the busy main road.
The price is quite affordable, around IDR 300,000 per night, and the value you get is excellent. The room is compact but very clean, neat, and well-organized. The air conditioning works perfectly, the bathroom is clean, and the hot water runs well. The Wi-Fi connection is also fast and reliable, which is a big plus.
One of the highlights is that the hotel has an elevator—something not always common in the area—and breakfast is included. They also have a rooftop space with a beautiful view over . It’s a perfect spot to relax while waiting for check-in or even after check-out, especially if you have a later flight. The rooftop also offers a variety of food and snack options.
The staff are friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout the stay. Another convenient feature is that you can leave your luggage at the hotel if you’re heading out for multi-day trekking in Nepal.
Overall, The Milestone Hotel is a great option if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located stay in Thamel with a peaceful vibe despite being in a busy area.

The staff were really lovely
I paid extra for a suite with a bath and the bath was unusable. It had purple stains in it and a crack in it that had been badly repaired and was sharp leaving the bath unable to be used. I booked this purposefully as I needed it after trekking in the Himalayas so was extremely disappointed it couldn’t be used. I was also left half used toiletries, there was constant building noise going on so was completely unable to relax and recover. The sauna and steam room were also not very clean or usable.

Had a top stay at The Milestone Hotel. The staff were absolutely lovely super friendly, helpful, and always up for a chat. Made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming from the get-go.
The rooms were clean, comfy, and well looked after perfect spot to kick back after a day out in Kathmandu.
Brekkie was a real winner too. Nicely done eggs, crispy toast, bacon, sausage, baked beans, and fresh fruits simple but spot on. Everything tasted fresh and came out looking great. Proper good way to start the day.
All in all, couldn’t fault the place. Great service, good vibes, and solid food. Would definitely stay again 👍
