The room was very cozy
This is a beautiful property located on the beach. It really does not het much better than this. The room was nice and spacious and the views were nothing short of exceptional. The staff was wonderful and a shout out to the GM, John, for being very helpful! And of course the sunsets on West Dennis beach are worth the stay!
My husband and I were there for a wedding! Our room was a stand alone little cottage, just one bedroom with a queen size bed, and a nice size bathroom. I suggest the bathroom should have some hooks near the shower so we can hang the towels, as well as a little table/cart for placing our toiletries, since the sink is a pedestal style with no counter space. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, but your typical, simple breakfast. The grounds are beautiful, with a view of the ocean! The staff is friendly and welcoming!
The wedding party was held at the premises. It was at the afternoon followed by a beautiful sunset! The food was great and so were the drinks. We had a very nice weekend at the Lighthouse Inn!!!
Staff was great, property ambiance was great but accommodations were OLD and need of updates; cute place though
Beautiful setting and grounds. Although friendly, the front desk workers were not very helpful. We did not want a formal breakfast and they advertised coffee availability 24-7, but the urn of coffee was empty and we had a hard time getting it refilled and no one seemed to care.
We booked the Lighthouse Inn in the hope of a real Cape Cod experience without truly knowing what to expect. We arrived just after the Labor Day weekend and it was quieter than we expected but we received a warm welcome. I didn't know that layout until we arrived and were given a room across the carpark from the main building. It had plenty of space and a seating area with TV aside from the area with two beds and with outdoor seating on the lawn. We could park just a few steps from the front door. Cleaning was always thorough and the grounds tended. We had some excellent breakfasts and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy to see, with the wonderful location, traditional setting and beautiful view why three couples chose to hold their weddings there during our stay. After a week of exploring Cape Cod from this central base I think we can safely say we enjoyed a true Cape Cod experience. Thank You.
The staff were so warm and friendly. The GM helped my daughter crack her lobster because it was her first time having it. They took a picture and put it on their website and social media. The heated pool was my favorite. The beach did have a lot of seaweed but that happens in a lot of places sometimes. We just walked a way down the adjacent public beach to a less weedy area. I highly recommend this place!
My husband happened to find the Lighthouse Inn when searching online for Cape Cod hotels. We took a chance and booked it and I’m so glad we did! It was our very first time visiting Cape Cod and we had a great experience and will definitely be back!
Pros:
- great location- an easy drive to any part of the cape to explore
- I want to specifically recognize Bill who handled our reservation. This is a “mom and pop” type place, not a big hotel chain and you can feel the difference. I have some health concerns, and young children. Before booking, I called up and spoke to Bill who couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He answered all of my questions and didn’t rush me or make me feel like a bother. He booked us in a perfectly located room that worked for our family and my health issues.
He also was able to set us up with an additional night on a busy holiday weekend so we could stay for fireworks. They were fully booked but someone had just cancelled and he hooked us up with a really Nice oceanfront room. I sat on the couch with the window open just listening to the waves and ended up napping! It was the most relaxed I’ve felt all year!
- Daily breakfast buffet is included! Cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast. You can also order omelettes, bacon, ham etc. For an upcharge, you can get lobster eggs Benedict. The food was pretty good.
- Activities- we attended Bingo Night and s’mores/bonfire night twice. There was some live music. We were there for the big end of summer fireworks display on West Dennis Beach and it was awesome! Went for like 25 minutes. Such a relaxing and fun atmosphere to be on the hotel’s beach with the other guests watching the show (instead of in the huge crowd down at the public beach)
- spacious rooms with a small fridge and microwave and fireplace
- Nice pool for the kids. Pretty beach. The view never got old.
- free parking lot on site
- The Sandbar restaurant is a short walk (or even shorter drive). Food was just ok but watching the sunset on their patio was amazing. I’d go back and eat again just to stay for the sunset.
Cons (not many- this place is great):
- beach was covered in seaweed both in the water and on the shore which made it not inviting to swim. We also came across many huge horseshoe crab shells and jellyfish on the shore. The kids didn’t mind. They played in the sand and then used the pool instead. But we did have to drive to another beach for swimming (we went on the cape cod bay side).
- breakfast buffet was free and pretty decent. Lots of choices. However, it was the exact same thing every day for 7 days. No change-up at all. A little more variety would’ve been nice but that’s being very nitpicky for a decent free daily breakfast. Also, the yellow jackets were a problem when we wanted to eat breakfast on the patio outside. We ended up moving inside. Not sure much can be done about that though- it’s just that season.
- the rooms were generally clean for the things that mattered- clean sheets, clean towels, clean tub. You can tell the housekeeping only did the necessities though. Lots of dust and dirt on other surfaces and behind things. The mini fridge hadn’t been cleaned from the guest before us.
- depending on where your room is, you may have to park and walk kinda far with your luggage as some rooms don’t have spots right near them.
All in all, I would definitely recommend Lighthouse Inn. The little cottages give it that coastal charm that feels so cape cod. Pool, beach, restaurant, bar. They had tennis courts, shuffleboard, mini golf, a playground. It was a perfect spot for a family. It would be very romantic for couples as well. The staff at the front desk and in reservations were friendly and helpful. Book this hotel for your next stay on Cape Cod.
Incredible. Everything about it. Our cottage was so nice, roomy, clean, just perfect. The staff is amazing. So much todo on the grounds. You can never be bored. Family friendly. Didn't eat in the restaurant, so can't say how it is, but it looked amazing. Short drive to many stores and restaurants.
The Lighthouse Inn was a wonderful place to visit! We went on Labor Day weekend and always accommodated us. The bartender, Michelle, did an incredible job working the bar and the drink window SOLO on a busy Sunday of the holiday weekend - major shoutout to her! Thank you to all staff for a great stay.
4.5 rounded up. Our guests enjoyed a beachside cocktail hour and private sunset dinner at this charming spot on Cape Cod. The reservations and service teams were responsive and thorough, and our guests appreciated the large dinner portions and the gorgeous views. Parking was limited as we got toward the dinner hour, and the space could use AC for those warmer days, but we were grateful for the accessibility of the space and overall positive experience. We can't wait to return for an overnight stay and s'mores on the beach!
I’ll be back
As a title says, this is a third visit to the lighthouse Inn. This place feels like coming home. The staff is very helpful and friendly.. we had a great bar tender her name was Michelle and makes one hell of a frozen piña colada . The best we have had yet. If you’re looking to find Cape Cod at its best and feel and be a part of the old cape the lighthouse inn the place for you.
Ended up in a room at the back of the property, which was inconvenient and not in great condition. The room and bedding were very low quality. Basic accommodations although nice location.
Beautiful views, lots of history and charm.
Lovely ocean front. Beaches & views were amazing, just what we thought Cape Cod was like in our minds. Restaurant, bar, beach chairs, umbrellas, shuffle board and a host of other amenities.
Lovely. Friendly staff. Great locatio
It was our first family trip and it was great. The cleaning staff were very friendly.
Older property. The kids enjoyed the pool, miniature golf, and outdoor space. restaurant was over priced.
For me, the people working at a place really make or break it for me. And in the case of the Lighthouse Inn, they really made it for me. Being greeted by Jane and then later having a chance to speak to Mary Beth at the front desk… Both women could not have been kinder or more helpful. We also really enjoyed meeting and talking with Theo, who was quite a character and kept us entertained! The rooms were clean and the housekeeping was spectacular. Everything was fabulous.
