Hotel filthy. Lift didn’t work stairs filthy room filthy holes on walls damp on ceilings bathroom door didn’t shut the bath was filthy bed was uncomfortable felt the springs through the sheet and a board under the mattress . Sockets didn’t work in morning and I needed phone charged for my CGM app . Did finally get someone to fix that . Need a refund just spoiled a good day out .

The room was unkempt and untidy. It was never cleaned all the time I stayed there. Toiletries not supplied and coffees and teas, plus sugar and milk not supplied. I have to go to the front desk to request.

I trave a lot and I have never had this experience.

Could do with a functional lift.

Poor service, staff at front very poor with with customers. Lift out of order and we were on the 3rd floor.

Room was dirty, on the ground floor right Infront of a nightclub, I saw the room and instantly went to the reception to cancel. There was Sh** on the bathroom door, bath was dirty, carpets were disgusting. I have been trying to get a refund for a month and still haven't received one. When I went to reception to cancel I was offered another room, but after seeing that room and the hallways in the hotel I declined.

The hotel was in poor condition and not very clean. Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant stay and was disappointed with the overall experience. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to others.

As soon as opened door it smelt of cigarette smoke,. Door to my room felt like a good push would have opened it. Obviously had a quick once over as a clean but not very well

Extremely disappointing stay at City Hotel Aberdeen — nothing like the advertised photos.
I was staying here on my own, and unfortunately the room was in a very poor and tired condition. It looked nothing like the photos shown when booking. The walls were heavily marked and damaged, with visible cracks, patches and areas of damaged paint. The headboard and furniture were badly scuffed and worn, and the bedside table was also in poor condition.
To make matters worse, there were used/dirty towels left on the floor at the side of the bed when I arrived. This was absolutely unacceptable and immediately made me question how thoroughly the room had actually been cleaned.
The room also smelt strongly of mould, making it very unpleasant to stay in. The only positive thing about the window being open was that I needed the air circulating because of the smell.
The window itself was a problem. There was a screen in front of it and a cup wedged at the bottom, meaning there was no way for me to properly close the window. Unfortunately, this meant I could hear a huge amount of noise from the bars outside. I was awake until around 4am, when the noise finally calmed down.
I appreciate that Aberdeen is a lively city and some outside noise is to be expected, but having a window that I couldn't properly close made the situation much worse.
I raised all of these concerns with reception, expecting at least some understanding or an attempt to resolve the situation. Instead, the member of staff laughed when I explained the problems and simply told me to contact Booking.com. I found this response extremely unprofessional, dismissive and completely unacceptable.
I paid for a hotel room expecting it to be clean, comfortable and properly maintained. Instead, I was left with dirty towels beside the bed, a strong smell of mould, damaged and poorly maintained furnishings, a window that couldn't be closed and a terrible night's sleep.

Was checked into wrong room ,over payed and they couldn't change it .

Though it was mentioned to use the stairs, but have 2 heavy checked bagages and a hand bagage was too difficult to carry. I would have been happy if the lift was working.

There was no parking for this property like they advertised so we had to park in the shopping centre. As we arrived they refused to let us in even though we had already booked and paid. They refused to cooperate with booking.com forcing us to yet pay again to stay somewhere else. Staff at reception were very rude and unhelpful.
