Beautiful hotel rooms, but more like apartments
Pros:

Fantastic rooms, well decorated in a Turkish style and beautifully appointed. Great location for sightseeing around old Istanbul.

Cons:

The hotel is very distributed - with our room quite a walk, on the public pavements, to the reception. The whole hotel is like this.

A estadia no Hagia Sofia Mansions Istanbul, Curio Collection by Hilton ficou bastante aquém do que se espera de um hotel de 5 estrelas. As chamadas “mansões”, separadas do edifício principal e sem receção própria, lounge ou um verdadeiro espaço comum, fazem com que a experiência se aproxime mais da de quartos dispersos ou de um Airbnb do que da de um hotel desta categoria.
Na prática, o contacto com o hotel resumiu-se quase apenas ao check-in e ao check-out, sem acompanhamento ao longo da estadia nem verdadeira vivência de hotel. Foi, aliás, uma das partes mais dececionantes da estadia em Istambul e claramente a mais desproporcionada em termos de relação qualidade-preço.
O pequeno-almoço foi fraco e sem qualidade, com pouca variedade de fruta, pão pouco interessante e omeletes abaixo do mínimo aceitável. Também aí a equipa revelou pouca profissionalismo e uma apresentação descuidada, o que agravou a má impressão.
O quarto também ficou aquém do esperado: janelas com fraco isolamento, edredões curtos, toalhas frágeis e até flores de plástico no quarto — um pormenor infeliz num hotel deste nível.
Houve ainda erros na conta final e o SPA estava encerrado, apesar de o site apenas referir o fecho da área de fitness. Tudo isto é ainda mais lamentável tendo em conta a ligação à Hilton, que deveria ser uma garantia adicional de padrão, consistência e cuidado.
É pena, porque o edifício principal é bonito e promissor. Mas a dispersão das “mansões”, a 5 ou 10 minutos a pé, torna a experiência descoordenada, inconsistente e claramente abaixo do que seria exigível a um hotel de 5 estrelas associado à Hilton.

Pros:

Beautiful historical center of Istanbul. Quiet and private rooms with the view to the sea and Hagia Sofia. Everything in walking distance. Breakfast was with the variety of food and very good service. Front desk was helpful.

Cons:

Everything was more, than we expected. We got two rooms next to each other as we asked. Reception was very helpful. We liked the historical rooms.
