Not much however the room was warm and spacious, that's about it.
Dated, tired decor. Shower pressure none existent. No blind or curtain in the shower room! The exterior is in need of serious attention, driveway full of potholes, not recommended.
Das Ambiente des Hauses, insbesondere der große Raum.
The location, hospitality from the staff and freshly made food.

The breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The location was fine for us. Avery quiet location in the grounds of an old Manor House.
The view from the bedroom. To be fair they are still renovating the property and grounds which was mentioned in the description.
I would have appreciated a small fridge in the room.
A big surprise for us was a pantomime conducted by a local entertainment group. The meal and entertainment were very good indeed! Breakfast was good and promtly served the following morning so that we could arrive in good time for the Cairnryan to Larne ferry.
No a la carte due to the panto feature but not really a problem. To be really picky, the room upon arrival was too cool.
Good location very close to city centre, nice big and clean room,
Food not very tasty,
The location was great , and I loved the coal fire .
It was not the cleanest , I had to get one of the pillows changed as it was a light brown colour, about 20 minutes after eating some of my dinner , I had to visit the toilet two times within 5 mins of each other , the eating area which was the reception and relaxing area was very dark , they still charged for bed & breakfast even though I only had bed , I paid for my dinner at the time .
The hotel was well signposted and easy to find. The front desk and lobby was lovely and felt warm and welcoming. The room was ample for the two of us and very clean. It was very quiet at night and the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very good and the coffee nice and strong. We really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is clearly a labour of love and renovations are ongoing. We didn't mind at all and found it inspiring to think about someone taking on a big endeavour. Some might not like the rough edges in some areas, but we quite liked it and found it added to the charm.
Situation, appearance, style, staff friendliness and attitude, menu
Difficult lavatory flush device.
Friendly and helpful family and excellentevening meals.
Breakfast excellent - cooked to order and brought to the table, Good choice and quick service, Being pnsioners the owner went the extra mile to help us carry our luggage to our room. He was very welcoming and helpful.
shower in bathroom required attention, It was not fully functional
I'd describe this as a hotel with enormous potential. The old, extended building and it's beautiful surroundings could be something fabulous, but it needs a ton of money spent on it to get there.
The staff were all extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast and evening meal both great. The property is just quite tired, and in most areas feels like it has been put together on a pretty tight budget.
Everywhere was perfectly clean - a big comfort certainly - but the furniture, decor, bathroom, fabric of the rooms, all just had a dated feel and in many areas (such as the rotting wood around the bathroom door frame) just crying out for some TLC.
If the room rate was half the price I'd award it a much higher score, but at this price there are much better rooms around...
Nice old building with an interesting history. Still has the remains of a large walled garden that you can walk around. Staff were very friendly and the food was really good - breakfast and dinner. Ensuite was a bit cramped but everything was clean.
Small issue with the window handle but the owner said they were carrying out further upgrades within weeks. No complaints otherwise.
