While the hotel itself is nice and the staff do a good job, the lack of advance notice about both the external construct
Pros:

Marino Beach Colombo is a very nice hotel with modern facilities, clean rooms, and a generally pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay, which we really appreciated.

Cons:

Our experience was significantly affected by ongoing construction. A new building was being constructed next door, and the constant construction noise made both the hotel and the outdoor areas quite unpleasant at times. Unfortunately, this was not communicated to us prior to our stay, which was disappointing as it influenced our overall experience.

In addition to this, there was renovation work happening in the room next to ours. This resulted in further noise and disruption, making it difficult to relax during the day.

A nice first night in Sri Lanka.
Pros:

The hotel is big and clean, overlooking the sea. Our room and bathroom were large and well appointed. The breakfast was fantastic.

Cons:

The service at the roof top restaurant, where we had a drink, was extremely slow. The hotel does not have direct access to the beach but offers a shuttle to one close by. The shuttle, as well as the city tour offered, are arranged in the afternoon, so check in as early as you can.

Pros:

Hotelkamers prima, ontbijt, dinerbuffet voortreffelijk. Personeel echt behulpzaam faciliteiten hotel geweldig. Rustige ligging, maar met tuktuk prima in korte tijd bij bezienswaardigheden.

Cons:

Eigenlijk niet veel. Bij de stadstour die door het hotel wordt aangeboden en die gratis is, merk je pas dat Colombo erg groot is. Voornamelijk in de ochtend en avond zeer grote woon/werk file,s.
