Overall the hotel is great Dave who worked that night was amazing and the other young guy was as well.
Pros:

How clean it was

Cons:

When we entered our first room it had a horrible smell I just could not tolerate but the young man at the front desk did accommodate us by switching our room with no hesitation at all.

Great place to stay and close to main areas in Richmond Hill
Pros:

I liked how modern everything looked. The facilities were nice in the lobby and in the room. The room was clean and well maintained. The AC worked well and was not too loud.

Cons:

I did not like the outdated TV in the room. The quality was not good and it had a tinted blueish color.

It worked well for what we needed to stay
Pros:

Well, our room didn't get cleaned even though we asked, but our do don't disturb sign was on the door, but I requested to get in to clean and when we arrive late that second night, the room wasn't make. Breakfast wasn't great.

Cons:

I already wrote about it

Beware of the Bait and Switch
Pros:

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves honest feedback.

One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because the Marriott Bonvoy app clearly advertised that there was no pet fee. Upon check-in, however, I was informed that I would be charged a pet fee anyway. When I showed the front desk associate the Bonvoy app displaying the “no pet fee”, the response was not an attempt to understand or resolve the discrepancy. Instead, I was immediately handed a preprinted notice citing “Marriott corporate policy,” almost as though this is a common occurrence at this property. The relevant information was even highlighted, making it even more obvious that this is business as usual.

What was most disappointing was the attitude. Rather than working toward a reasonable resolution, I was told that if I refused to pay the fee, my reservation would be canceled. Being threatened with losing a confirmed reservation over a clear disagreement—while presenting what appeared to be unequivocal evidence supporting my position—felt less like customer service and more like a power trip. Hospitality should be about solving problems respectfully, not escalating them.

After my experience, I wasn’t surprised to find that several other reviews mention issues with the demeanor and attitude of the front desk staff. Unfortunately, my interaction reinforced those concerns.

The room itself also reflected a property in need of attention. It was noticeably dated and worn, and the shower had significant mold issues that should have been addressed long ago. These are not the standards I expect from a Marriott-branded hotel.

Disagreements over policies can happen. What distinguishes a quality hotel is how those situations are handled. Unfortunately, this property chose confrontation over customer service, leaving what should have been a pleasant stay overshadowed by an entirely avoidable experience. I am a Titanium Elite loyalty level guest.
