If you're looking for a budget-friendly hotel in Phrae for a short stay before continuing your journey, this place is a solid choice. I’ve stayed here multiple times, usually arriving late at night and checking out early in the morning. While I haven’t spent much time in the room, it has everything needed for a comfortable night's rest.

The hotel is simple but clean, and the price is reasonable. It’s a great option if you’re not too picky and just need a place to sleep before hitting the road again. If you don’t mind the basics, this is one of the better budget hotels in the area.

Equipment and furniture in the room were old. Front desk weren’t welcome because they were kind of ignore guests by taking to each other. However, the location was good and security guy was nice and welcoming.

There is no dining in this hotel. Very limited in area as well. The hotel is easy to get too and good price.

A simple budget hotel. Small room for short stay. Room is clean but the light is a bit dim. No breakfast provided. Location is convenient. No complaint with the amount of money paid for the room.

Not a bad place if you're on a budget. It's clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Can't really walk to anywhere to eat but Foodpanda delivery works well. They have water refills which is nice.

We booked this hotel because it is new, opened early 2019, but considering that, due to covid, the hotel was closed 3 months, then the hotel is barely 2 years old.
Expected, wrongly, that after 3 months closed due to a pandemic, should reopen pristine clean, upside down and insideout, I dont understand why our room, specially the bathroom was dirty and full of ants.
The towels have an unsettling brown-ish color as well as the bed sheets.

Location is bad, far from everywhere but again being a new hotel and the only, apparently, good option, we hoped that we were not going to suffer much,
but, unfortunately, although we like Phrae, there is not infraestructure and good accommodation.

The bathroom was hideous, full of yellow stains, rusty on the floor, black around the pipes and full of ants rumning in and out of the room, probably to eat in the carpet that covers the corridors. Carpet, which its use, I dont understand in a tropical country, so warm as Thailand.

The desk, close to the kettle and coffee facilities, was also full of ants.
I dont complain because of room size or bathroom size but I dont and I wont ever understand why, even cheap has to be dirty and smelly, considering during and through this pandemic the hotel/s have to be totally disinfected, specially for personal hygiene.
It is a pity I disnt take any photo.

Unfortunately the staff really struggled and trying to book a group of us in there seem to have no idea how to deal with it and what to do there is also mosquitoes in the room it’s very basic but everything does work it’s quite on the edge so there’s not a lot to do around it but the place opposite provides drink and food

Furnishings were nice but not engineered well. Use of space lacked usefulness.

Room # 414 - 1 x Nights Stay

Our 1st visit here - however we would book and stay here again.

Similar to The Hop Inn. Nice large room. Nice bed. Pillows too hard for me. Bathroom is very tiny. Overall, this was a 2 month old hotel with a very attractive price.

This was a new hotel when I stayed there in Feb. 2019 Desk staff were responsive / friendly

Good things: This hotel is built to cover all the basics, and it does that very well -- good AC, very good mattresses and pillows, small frig, coffee and electric kettle, daily free bottles of water, wireless was sufficient, good number of bathroom towels and basic extras (soap/shampoo), good vehicle parking
Relatively small negatives: Room okay but not large. TV very small. The shower entrance permanently open, so water splatters outside the shower. Fortunately, bathroom floor mat provided).

Negatives: Very small elevator. Capacity 8 people, could only squeeze in two couples with two large suitcases. There were some kind of construction shavings in a two-inch area around the perimeter of the elevator floor that could have easily been vacuumed or swept up. Other smudging / dirtiness made the elevator unpleasant.

Possible negative: Both of us found insect bites on our body the after staying at the hotel (one on one person and two or three on the other person). Of course we could have been from somewhere else.

Conclusion: Because of its very good price point, I would like to rate this hotel 4 stars, which is usually the most I would give for any basics-oriented budget hotel. We may try it again, since we’ll be in Phrae periodically. But because of the small negatives, I will first try some of the other inexpensive places to stay.
