The stay was great, the place is wonderful with an amazing design and very calm. Beautiful view on the lake and great food. We were very content with everything.
Unfortunately, then we had a bit of a bad aftertaste - during the stay we wanted to pay but the service informed us it was already paid. We didn’t think much about it since we don’t track every 100€. After check out they messaged us that it wasn’t paid after all - I checked it and it was true. I of course agreed to transfer the money within the next few hours. We made the transfer as agreed and went to sleep, putting the phone in sleep mode. In the morning I woke up to messages from the property and Expedia (who handles Hotels.com bookings) that the property requested to charge my card and I should contact them urgently. Made us feel like fugitives, even though the misunderstanding was caused by their mistake. More patience and respect would have been appreciated.
Absolutely incredible stay. This place is such a hidden gem. You simply cannot visit Kerala without staying here. All of the staff were so sweet and accommodating. The amenities were incredible.

Nous avons passé deux nuits dans cet endroit absolument magique. Le cadre (le lac), la chambre et sa déco, le personnel aux petits soins et le service très personnalisé, la disponibilité d’ Anish pour répondre à nos demandes... tout cela a contribué à rendre ce séjour inoubliable !
Nous avons aussi adoré la nourriture à l’Ameya.

Nice hotel but not so good location - it is not quite in Kumarakom or Alleppey per se and took us a bit of time to find. The room is lovely and the staff attentive, we liked the cold water, and the food tasty. However, we felt the breakfast is really small compared to the other cheaper homestays we were at, with no option of Indian breakfast. Dinner is yummy but very expensive (we paid more than 1000 rupees per person). We appreciated the staff helping us to arrange a morning boating tour near Kumarakom.
