クルマで行くには非常に良いホテル。
Pros:

温泉が二ヶ所ある。新館の露天風呂は海が見渡せて素晴らしい。
朝食会場は海が間近に見えて素晴らしい。
駐車場に余裕がある。

Cons:

WiFiがおそい。
寝巻、アメニティ部屋ではなくフロントの横にあったがわかりにくかった。
チェックインして部屋に入った時にエアコンが効いておらず暑かった。

Very comfortable stay

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Seaside Shimabara, particularly in the main building where the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and featured balconies with lovely views across the ocean and ferry port. Waking up to the sea was a real highlight.

The staff were wonderful throughout our stay—friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. While we stayed in the main building, it looked as though the newer building may offer more modern facilities and amenities.

One thing to note: if you're hoping for a sleep-in, the ferry horns start sounding around 8:00 am and are impossible to ignore. It's part of the port atmosphere, but light sleepers should be aware.

The hotel is conveniently located close to a local convenience store, making it easy to grab snacks, drinks, or essentials. However, Shimabara is quite spread out and public transport can be limited, so I highly recommend hiring a car. The buses are infrequent, and many of the area's attractions are much easier to access by car.

If you're staying in Shimabara, don't miss the dolphin-watching cruise—it was absolutely fabulous and one of the highlights of our visit.

Another essential recommendation is the Indian restaurant just three minutes' walk from the hotel. After several days of travelling, it was a welcome change of pace and served some of the best Indian food we've had in Japan. Friendly service, excellent curries, and a great atmosphere made it a standout meal during our stay.

A comfortable seaside hotel with great views, excellent staff, and a good base for exploring the Shimabara Peninsula.

Cons:

The shower heads were just terrible.

Pros:

Spacious room, with 2 different onsen, great seaview from the room. Staff was also friendly and helpful. Close distance from eateries (within short drive).
Breakfast was great with seaview out the window.

Cons:

The hotel looks dated and past its prime. Tho still very clean and well maintained.

良い温泉
Pros:

本館に宿泊したが客室のベランダ側がオーシャンビューで波がキラキラと輝いて美しかったです。前に芝生があるためかほど良く暑さ眩しさが緩和されていたように思います。
スタッフの方は聞けばにこやかに教えてくれました。
エアコンの吹き出し口や窓枠などまで清掃が行き届いているなと感心しました。
高濃度炭酸泉！最初は冷たいけど、すごく気持ち良かったです。

Cons:

お風呂が2箇所あって、どちらも場所が解りづらかったです。
土産店が入っておらず、新館にだけ小さいコンビニが入っていますが、チェックアウト直前まで気づかず、利用できませんでした。

Pros:

フロントが明るくてよかった。
そして何より温泉が良かった。さすが九州温泉道に登録されているだけのことはある。

2店舗ほど紹介されたが、予約のみだったりで利用できなかった。

Would definitely stay here again
Pros:

Received a free upgrade to "Room 3000" which is from the looks of it 3x bigger than a standard room. Well-decorated and outfitted. And a big bath tub. We felt a bit like VIP. Good breakfast catering for both Japanese and Western tastes. Would stay there again if I were ever to return in the surroundings.

Cons:

The location of the hotel is not much to write home about, but it served its purpose as a gateway from the sea to the mountains for us. Dinner options in the area are scarce but not entirely absent if you do your research.

Pros:

静かで、室内も清潔。シングルルームに泊まったが、一般的なビジネスホテルのシングルよりかなり広い部屋だった。
