It’s a very clean and well-maintained property, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. The rooftop restaurant offers a great ambiance and delicious food. Overall, we had a wonderful experience!
It was an absolute honor to stay in this 450 year-old property and experienced the space where the queens once lived for their safety! The property is very well-maintained and is extremely clean and spacious… The food (vegetarian only) was extremely delicious and authentic. The fort is an easy five minute walk from there to hike though the back door entry. Gorgeous views of the Ford from the rooftop restaurant as well.
The staff is very courteous, helpful and welcoming. Our kids 8 and 10 had a blast staying at this hotel and exploring Jodhpur in its essence!
The hospitality was the best part about this property. Please keep that going.
This property is amazing. The building itself is one of the oldest Havelis in town, over 400 years old. It’s made of the beautiful red stone that gives Jodhpur such an amazing desert feel. The bedrooms are very comfortable with very pretty decor and lighting. The food was also outstanding and you can eat either on the rooftop with an amazing view of the blue part of the city and the fort or down on the ground floor with cute tables and little rooms to eat in. The food is Jain style, following strict vegetarian diet, but very tasty. The location of the hotel, which is wonderful, is also the difficult part. Do not try to take a car into the old town. We got stuck halfway to the hotel and had to turn around. Best to park in the new part of the city and take a rickshaw to the hotel.
Beautiful traditional hotel with nice view from rooftop, highly recommend if you wanna stay inside of blue city.
Just one thing, staffs need to learn how to treat guest as ‘guest’. Different room was assigned and It was so noisy and a staff woke up us middle of night to charge dinner fee since they won’t be at hotel next morning. It was pretty annoying, hope it won’t be happened to other guests.
This property is a 450 year old Haveli - very unique in architecture, an absolute feast for the eyes.
The hostess is very generous and the staff are really caring and humble. Highly recommended.
This was among the worst hotel stays I've ever experienced. To be clear, this is a very beautiful old building and it's been furnished nicely, which you can see in the photos. That makes it extra sad that it's fallen into the hands of the person managing it.
Here are a few complaints from a much longer list:
-Check-in took forever. And after a long voyage, all we wanted to do was check into our room, We were cryptically told we couldn't do that until we went to the rooftop to discuss something with manager. It turned out she just wanted to greet us up there. This was well-intentioned, maybe, but the last thing we wanted to do after a long voyage with a visibly cranky toddler was be marched up four flights of stairs.
-The manager told us that we would have access to a kitchen and refrigerator for our baby's food. The kitchen staff did not allow us to do so.The barely cool fridge in the room turned off when we removed our key from the slot and was not an option.
-Upon entering the room, we found litter and muddy stains on the floor and half empty shampoo bottles in the bathroom. When we expressed that this was unacceptable, the manager told me I was just too tired and needed to "relax."
-No one who works at the hotel other than the manger speaks either English or Hindi, making it very difficult to communicate.
-The wiring was crazy: there were >30 switches in our room yet the same switch controlled the fan and the light so you couldn't do just one.
-Our room had mice!
Beautiful historic building renovated in a very stylish way by Rani. Very helpful staff and owner (we arrived very early and unannounced but were made to feel immediately welcome). Rani arranged a very good driver for the day. An oasis in a very lively street!
Amazingly beautiful property. They’ve done an great job restoring the place. Stages is impeccable and Nisha (owner) is so wonderfully hospitable. I would stay here over an over again in a heartbeat 💓
Terrible location of hotel. Taxi can’t go there, had to take an auto. Not great room as worth of price they charge. No amenities in side room. Filthy condition in and around hotel surroundings.
Wonderful old haveli renovated to modern standards. The owner is a gem - wonderful lady. Great view of the fort from the rooftop restaurant. Close to the fort, but away from the noise of the old town. Very reasonably priced - highly recommended.
I cannot imagine a more wonderful place to stay, than The Rani Majal, when visiting Jodhpur. The building is many centuries old and has great, inimitable authenticity.
The owner, Mrs. Jain is a very gracious and calming hostess. She was ready to help with any of our needs and has gone to great lengths to create a very stylish and comfortable environment for her guests.
The rooftop terrace has one of the best views in Jodhpur and is not be missed. Dining on the rooftop at night at The Rani Majal is a magical experience.
I very much look forward to staying in this memorable hotel again.
This hotel is so old and beautiful it has been restored with passion and it’s so close to the Mehrangarh Fort
you can sit on the rooftop restaurant and gaze in awe at it we loved everything about it including a fabulous menu
Nisha, the owner was so hospitable and helpful, as was the entire staff. The location can’t be beat if you want to explore the Blue city. It’s also very close to the Fort. The food is delicious. Know before you go - the hotel cannot be accessed by car (the streets are too narrow) so get used to Tuk-Tuks.
The most amazing owner who couldn't have been more welcoming or make our stay so pleasant. We felt just at home. The rooms were amazing!!! It was like being thrown back into the times of the Maharajah, loved our room and only wished we had booked longer. Even the food was good! 5 stars!!!
Nice decorations, location a little tough to get to. Wi fi was terrible . Staff were great
Very unique property with charm. Room was nicely decorated and clean.
The boutique Hotel Rani Mahal did live up to the top ratings and reviews it has received .
My friends and I arrived in a Tuk tuk from the airport to be greeted and welcomed by Nisha to her beautiful Haveli.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, Nisha and her family were the perfect hosts. It felt like she was welcoming us into her home. Nothing was too much for her. She helped us organise trips, gave good advise on where to visit and even help organise a tailor for my friend.
This is a family business, and Nisha’s children and Husband were so helpful and gracious to us, it wouldn’t have been the same experience in Jodhpur without the help and hospitality they offered us.
Nisha and her family beautifully restored this 450 year old Haveli, with attention paid to every detail of the restoration, as she herself said, it was a labour of love. I particularly love hanging out in the foyer, it was so relaxing.
The rooms are well appointed and the bathroom spacious for two. The rooms we stayed in were air conditioned too. I would recommend rooms away from the streets if you are a light sleeper.
Nisha and her family are Jains, so the food served in the restaurant was purely vegetarian. As a carnivore, I must say, I didn't miss meat or poultry as the vegetarian dishes were so delicious – Try the cashew curry.
Please note that the Haveli is located in the old city of Jodhpur and is not accessible by car. You can get a Tuktuk from the airport or train station.
