Rustig gelegen
Pros:

Natuurlijk had ik zelf beter op moeten letten. Maar er was geen airco op de kamer en met een buitentemperatuur van 32° hebben we een doorwaakte nacht gehad. 's Avonds kwam er nog een stevige bui over het dorp. Verder was de kamer prima in orde. Het personeel is aardig. De WiFi liet ons regelmatig in de steek. Het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid maar de broodjes waren taai.

Loved it.
Pros:

Beautiful rooms and general areas. Breakfast was amazing. So much choice and all felt very fresh. Brilliant system to check yourself in. We used it for Rhine Falls visit which is just 20 minutes drive away. Would rush back to this hotel, my favourite on a 6 week trip.

Cons:

Kettle in rooms would just finish this off as the ultimate stay.

Pros:

The hotel is a modern, newly built property in a quiet location, with plenty of parking available. The option to collect the room key from a secure lockbox is practical, particularly for late arrivals.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing due to several problems with the room, its facilities and the hotel's communication.

The room appeared to lack proper ventilation. Despite the window being open, we were greeted by an unpleasant, sour smell of sweat when we entered.

The room layout is also poorly designed. The toilet opens directly towards the bed and is separated from the sleeping area only by sliding glass doors, providing very little privacy. The toilet ventilation fan starts with a considerable delay, if at all, while the bright bathroom lighting shines directly through the glass doors into the sleeping area. Using the toilet inevitably disturbs anyone still in bed, both visually and acoustically.

A particularly serious issue was the lack of hot water. Both in the evening and the following morning, we had to shower with cold or barely lukewarm water.

Another unpleasant experience was a complete power outage in the room when using the hairdryer provided by the hotel. We were left in darkness and had to use our phones and a headlamp as flashlights. The situation was quite unsettling, and unfortunately, the person we contacted at reception seemed to downplay the problem rather than take it seriously. No apology was offered.

Communication was also disappointing. The hotel did not communicate through Booking.com messaging and relied on WhatsApp instead. The invoice for our stay was only provided after several repeated requests.
Breakfast was average.

Overall, while the building is modern and the location quiet, the poorly designed bathroom, inadequate ventilation, lack of hot water, electrical problems and unsatisfactory communication made this a disappointing experience.

Ein weiterer Aufenthalt im Hotel Holzscheiter in Lottstetten
Pros:

Diese Übernachtung war jetzt das zweite Mal. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist gut und das Zimmer sowie die Aussatttung haben überzeugt. Die Buchung über Booking war sehr einfach und schnell. Die Ausstattung ist völlig ausreichend und das Zimmer ist sehr hell sauber. Die Qualität vom Bett ist sehr gut und der TV ist einfach zu bedienen. Im direkten Umfeld vom Hotel gibt es 2-4 Parkplätze, von denen einer mit einer Ladestation ausgestattet ist.

Cons:

Unagenehm ist, dass die Rezeption ab mittags nur von 15 bis 18 Uhr besetzt ist, sodass eine frühere Anreise nicht möglich ist. Das Frühstück kostet € 20,- und entspricht diesem Preis nicht.

Ruhig, gemütliche Unterkunft mit lecker Frühstück 🤩🤩
Pros:

Freundliches Personal, ruhige Lage, grosszügiges Zimmer, grosses Bad, kleine Terrasse war super, kleiner Kühlschrank, feines Frühstück, sogar mit laktosefreier Milch und Hafermilch! Gute Lage für Veloausflüge ins Naturzentrum Thurauen oder Schaffhausen. Auch tagsüber Kaffeebar zur Selbstbedienung und grosser Automat mit Alkoholischen Getränken und Süssigkeiten!

Cons:

Vielleicht gibt es zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt mal einen Veloraum, wo man die Bikes zu jeder Zeit selbstständig einschliessen kann. Jetzt durften wir sie in den Schopf stellen, aber da musste immer jemand vom Personal öffnen.
