Very disappointing and stressful experience.

I booked what I understood to be a private room for around €40 through Booking.com, and the reservation itself was already paid through Booking.com. However, the hostel then asked me to pay an additional security deposit by sending me a private payment link by email. This payment method was not clearly disclosed in the Booking.com listing or reservation information, and I was not comfortable entering my bank card details through a private external link.

The check-in process was also extremely problematic. I spent around three hours trying to complete the self check-in. The reservation number provided by the hostel was not recognized by their app, the facial verification did not work, and the card payment section was disabled.

Eventually, my phone battery died. After wasting a large part of my one-day trip to Singapore trying unsuccessfully to check in, I had no choice but to find and book another hotel myself.

There was also a major issue with the accommodation information. I believed I had booked a private room, but I was told that the accommodation was actually a bed in a shared room. If this had been clearly stated on Booking.com, I would never have paid around €40 for it.

Overall, a very stressful experience due to unclear information, a failed check-in process and an unexpected request for a security deposit through a private payment link. I would not recommend this hostel based on my experience.

Calling it a “double room” is very misleading. It is a large single bed sectioned off from a dormitory of about 16-18 people (if all of the bed spaces hold 2 people) by a curtain, not a wall. Yes it was relatively inexpensive compared to the other accommodation options so part of it is “you get what you pay for” but we feel mislead about being sold a “double room” when it is a large single bed in a large dorm. The description of the room needs to include that it is in a dormitory (as some of their other options do - we assumed the photos did not line up with the room we’d be provided, as it wasn’t stated it was in a dormitory as the other options did),
We would’ve booked different accomodation had we known this.
The “small double room” description notes the double room offers “soundproof walls” which needs changed as one “wall” is a curtain. The description also notes the room “is furnished with a desk and seating area” which are actually outside the “room” in the communal dorm area.
My friend and I arrived and realised it would be a very tight squeeze for us in this “double room” so tried to book another bed but as there was no one on reception we had to message. There was no other beds available so we had to share what we consider to be a large single bed.
Our “room” was right by the door and people were coming and going at all hours. The light in the dorm also stayed on all night. There was no space at all to manoeuvre in the dorm and also no lockable space to put our bags/valuables.
There were 2 showers and 1 toilet for our dorm of about 16-18 which is a bit skimpy.
The online check in was also a bit confusing as it was under the branding “cozzzee” (which I think is their sister brand).
Overall a bit unimpressed with the facilities and misleading summary on the advertisement.

Very loud at night and Having no staff almost all the time was not good at all, makes the check in process even more difficult especially when you have to pay online to a website $30 deposit.

Couldn't work the security box to keep things in.

Les toilettes étaient bouchées, aucune sécurité (impossible de changer le code du coffre), on réserve pour une chambre et en fait c'est un double lit en dortoir !!!!!!

Maybe don't stay here on a weekend if you are not used to a bit of noise from the outside as this is in the Boat Quay, Clarke Quay area/streets which gets packed with party goers. Best to book on a weekday like Monday-Thursday if you're sensitive to noise and crowds.

Bathroom area is extremely hot, very hard to breathe, would be good to have A/C in there

Downstair pub too noisy. Need improve sound proof

Humidity was high, smell is not good. Also pub is so near therefore you can hear every voice it is not slient
