Protea Hotel by Marriott Pretoria Loftus Park

Good hotel, didn’t give the room 5/5 but only 4/5 because of a whining/whistling sound throughout the whole night that stopped me from sleeping well. That and the AC temperature couldn’t be reduced below 18C. Otherwise can’t fault the hotel for anything.

Great hotel

Really nicely placed hotel with shops and restaurants all round. Spotless and good spread of breakfast buffet. Rooms were quite comfy.

The hotel is beautiful and the restaurants are nice too, but I had paid for three breakfasts for three nights, then I paid for a forth night in the same room, and they would not let me use my prepaid, but unused, breakfast from the day before. It left a bad taste in my mouth about this hotel as it felt a bit unfair and stingy. The customer service just isn’t up to the level of a classy hotel.

Very enjoyable stay. Perfectly located right next to Loftus Versfeld, shops and restaurants. The staff were all amazing, friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault anything about the hotel - the only slight inconvenience was the fact that late nigt room service wasn't an option. Overall though, fantastic!

I felt better than being in my house ! They’re very nice, I stayed in room 309 the last week of January 2025 , I’m not regretted, I definitely when I go back to Pretoria from USA I will definitely book another staying with them again , thanks everyone!

Good rooms, decent food in the restaurant and handy for our transfer to the Rovos train.

Great service

This is the third stay at this hotel. Everything is newly appointed and very clean. Very comfortable, close to all amenities. Will definitely be back

The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. The staff so friendly. Breakfast was such a pleasure. The restaurant staff was super helpfull and the food amazing and great quality.

Unfortunatley my room lock from inside did not work so i did not sleep so well but that was only because it could not lock from inside. I reported it the next day (got in too late the night before) and they were going to action it the same day.

I would stay at this hotel every time i go to Pretoria from now on

Extremely difficult to enter the hotel by car when a match (soccer or rugby) is being played at adjacent Loftus Versfeld.
Room service terrible. We waited for more than an hour, and had to phone several times, before delivery was made, despite being promised initially that it would take at the most 40 minutes. The food was cold.
The reception staff were highly professional and friendly.

Nice room in a safe environment

Proximity to Loftus Park mall is an asset. Hotel WiFi was accessible in the mall. Modern and efficient I would preferentially stay there again.

The poor rating is not for the hotel itself which is fine and is a nice hotel. The poor rating is because of the situation with transportation that the hotel was supposed to organize. It seems that they outsource transportation services to another company and that company was absolutely horrible - they just never bothered to show up. This was not an isolated incident but happened to multiple colleagues who needed transportation services. I understand that it was not the hotel's responsibility, but if they could not offer a reliable service, then they shouldn't have offered it at all. I was stranded in the middle of no where with no wi-fi and the driver never bothered to show up. To add insult to injury - the hotel charged me even though the driver never picked me up!

Excellent service as always. We arrived early on an overnight flight from UK, was given complimentary breakfast whilst they made 3 rooms ready for early checkin. Stayed here a couple of times now, service, food and overall experience is first class. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again.

Staff at the restaurant is a different story .The first night the fact that we had paid for our dinner with my daughters' card they called us rudely on the phone inpur room asking me to come to the dining to pay for my dinner . when I told them that my daughter had paid they ask that my daughter go to the dining room to pay. Only to apologise later that it was a mistake. !
I did complain to the management. If indeed WWE did not pay it would have been sufficient to put the sum owed on the room bill.
In addition shuttle trip from J'burg airport to the Hotel in Pretoria was overcharged by 250 rands . The hotel being aware of how we were swindled reimbursed 250 in cash when we checked out
