Good place for the price you pay. For Swiss/Lugano standards the Colorado Hotel is rather cheap.
Service was nice, facilities alright. The building is a bit older, but rooms etc are alright.
A/C, fridge, tv etc. was working fine.
Breakfast was rather oldschool. Basic selection of spreads. Bread selection limited, it was refilled, but when it was busy sometimes a bit slow to refill.

The location is excellent for visitors travelling by train. A 10-minute walk from the station.
Or there is a bus stop outside the hotel.
Hospitality is excellent.
I was allowed to check in earlier as my room was ready.

I was very pleased and pleasantly surprised. I shall definitely stay here again.
Getting a single room is a bonus, as solo travellers often have to book a double room and therefore pay for an invisible guest, which is unfair. The room was small but had everything I needed, a safe, minibar, aircon, tv and a mini kettle. Be aware that the rooms are type J plug sockets which is not the same as other European countries. I had dinner one night in the restaurant and it was very good. The walk to the town centre is 10-15 mins but the bus stops nearby and I received the Ticino Ticket which meant public transport was free within Ticino.
The room window was left open after cleaning. I'd rather it remained closed, not for security reasons, as I was on a high floor, but because a mosquito then got into my room and I got bitten.
Preis/Leistung absolut okay, es ist sauber und hat alles, was man braucht. Geräumiger Balkon mit bequemen Stühlen.
Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche ist zu gering, Es sollte eine Lüftung in Badezimmern ohne Fenster haben.
It was close to the train station and a bus stop was right outside its doors. So getting around Lugano was easy.

Dalla camera allo staff, mi sono sentito truffato. Mai più, se ho la possibilità non consiglio a nessuno questo Hotel ed esperienza. Nonostante il rientro anticipato per via di un emergenza, lo staff si rifiuta del tutto per il rimborso delle notti inutilizzate...
