We really liked our stay at LEGOLAND castle hotel. I wish we had LOVED it.
The good - the design of the hotel is beautiful. Large figurines everywhere. Great design outside. Fun builds in the room. The included breakfast was very delicious.
The bad - the cost of the buffet dinner is absurd. $349 dkk (~$55 USD) for each person above age 14. For our family of 6 that would have cost over $300 for a buffet. There are lots of good options in Billund - lalandia, Billund central (10-15 minute walk) - that are much cheaper and much more delicious.
Also bad - we had a room with two bunks and one queen bed the queen bed was comfortable but the bunks had terrible mattresses. I think they made them with small kids in mind. What can you do when you take bigger kids?
LEGOLAND Billund is a fun park. Much better than the one in California. Great rides, good food. Very entertaining
Lego house was the best thing we did. It was so impressive and difficult to get through everything because each room was so exciting and interesting
We loved our one night stay here. Our son was blown away by the hotel and room and we enjoyed the hunt to unlock the safe in the room.
My teenagers had fun unlocking the safe for the small gifts. You even got a small box of Lego to play with within the room.
The room we had was a superior knights room which gives us sufficient space for 4 suitcases and an extra day bed for play.
The hotel was beautifully decorated with Legos and everywhere is a good photo spot.
Fint værelse dog lidt slidt. Venligt personale og god morgenmad.
.
Stayed in a wizard room and despite the high cost, this is a magical hotel so would recommend. Staff in reception were super helpful and the whole place is clean. Room was amazing for the kids. Only downside was the food at breakfast which was ok.
Meus filhos amaram a temática do hotel. Muito prático ao lado do parque. O jantar buffet foi melhor que a expectativa. Recomendo.
Alles super!
It was like spending time in a magical fairytale castle ❤️! We loved every minute - accomodation was spacious and clean, cosy beds and themed walls and enterior. Staff was very kind and helpfull. Kids loved solving the passwoed puzzle and award the came in accordance.
My kids loved this hotel - everything is brilliant for children, lego in the rooms, Lego in the reception, Lego in the restaurant. Room itself was surprisingly big and comfy, very clean on arrival. All members of staff were friendly. Breakfast was great, lots of options and constantly restocked.
Perfekt med børn
Super personale, men maden i restauranten trænger til en opgradering
Food average bed fine. Pay for parking
Lapsille kiva elämys. Aikuisille kuitenkin huono sänky, ruoka ja aamupala.
We stayed at the Castle Hotel in Legoland Billund and overall had a mixed experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. Our family of five (with three young kids) had a spacious room where the children even had their own little section – which we really appreciated. The room was spotless, and the reception area was nicely decorated with small things to buy like LEGO, snacks, and drinks.
However, the food was unfortunately a huge disappointment. Both the dinner and breakfast buffets were of very poor quality. The ingredients felt cheap, the food was bland (or bad-tasting when it did have flavor), and the selection was limited. Even our kids – aged 3, 4, and 7 – found it inedible. The milk served at breakfast was basically water, as they used skimmed milk only. None of us could eat much, and the kids refused to eat at all.
The next evening, we chose to have dinner at the Panorama Restaurant at the Legoland Hotel instead – and what a difference! The kids loved the children’s buffet, which had tasty food, actual meat sauce for the pasta, parmesan cheese, juicy meatballs, and well-cooked chicken skewers. We parents ordered ribeye from the à la carte menu, and it was really delicious.
Sadly, you can’t avoid breakfast at the Castle Hotel, but our advice is clear: do not eat dinner there. Try the Legoland Hotel’s restaurant instead.
In short: the Castle Hotel has nicer rooms, but the Legoland Hotel has much better food. Would be amazing if the two could be combined. The price for everything is a scam!
We recently stayed at Castle Hotel and, unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations – especially considering the price.
The bedding was quite disappointing; the duvets and pillows felt damp, which made it uncomfortable to sleep. In addition, the mattresses were extremely firm, offering little rest after a long day. The room we stayed in had a separate section for children, but that part was noticeably warmer than the rest of the room, which made it difficult for the kids to sleep well.
Breakfast was just okay – nothing special, and certainly not what you'd expect from a hotel in this price range. Overall, we had hoped for a higher standard and better comfort.
+ nicely decorated with Lego themed figures and colours.
Expensive and Terrible service. Had an inconvenience with my booking reservation because I had booked a package with hotel, entrance to the park and to Lego house. I don’t recommend booking any package. The manager was particularly rude and unhelpful.
Great stay for our 2-year-old and 7-year-old. They were both very entertained by the hotel and the park. The interior of the hotel was awesome. The clue-hunting game they give to arriving kids to unlock the safe in their rooms to find a lego toy was perfect. The breakfast buffet wasn't great by Scandinavian standards but was still good. Beds were great.
