Pros:

Nightmare. I arrived with an Expedia reservation, and was told I would have to pay double. Was offered an inferior room. The other guests made endless noise all night long.

Pros:

Do NOT book Hotel Mahal through Expedia.ca as Hotel Mahal will NOT honour your booking.

I arrived in Delhi from Canada at 3:30 a.m. and attempted to check-in at 4:30 a.m. However, I was told at check in, "We don't see your reservation. We don't use Expedia.ca; we only use OYO."

Thus I was sent back out to this slummy hotel district in the dark at 4:45 a.m. with no cab in sight.

I dragged my luggage through the sewage-covered rickety-stoned street in my business clothes from one slum hotel to another until I finally found a check-in agent who spoke enough English and was willing to make calls and find me a hotel with space available and call me a cab.

I finally arrived sweat-soaked, mud-splattered, exhausted and stressed at a half decent hotel a half-hour drive away at around 6 a.m.

Hotel Mahal has no website and no one answers the phone there, so there was no way to know in advance its staff only recognize OYO and not Expedia.ca.

And be warned, this is nowhere near the high-end airport hotel district.
