Location
We arrived to a letter saying we would have no hot water for a length of time in the day and was not offered any money back
It was a perfect location.
I wish we had control of the air conditioning in the room and not just a heater at all times and a microwave or a mini fridge would be so ideal.
This is 1 of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The photos online really sell it with it's recently renovated rooms. Which might I add we never got to see. We were greeted fantastically by the host outside and friendly reception staff were very welcoming. We had to pay an upfront charge of $135 US dollars. Once we headed to the lifts. Most were out of service. With wires hanging down from walls and tiles on the floor missing. We stayed on the 14th floor which once were exited the lift to our disgust was horrendous peeling off wallpaper and dirty carpets. Our room was 1448 and as soon as we go into the room I could of died. The room was not as advertised. We were given a really old room. The wallpaper was coming off everywhere. The windows didn't open. The air conditioning was warm and I even got an electric shock from the plug to charge my phone. Further more the bed linen was soiled with filth. The carpets were very dirty. The pressure in the taps didn't work for the sink. The bed was a very small double. Not a queen as was arranged in the booking. The ice machine on our floor didn't work at all during our stay. Not only that but we could constantly smell canabis coming from other rooms as well as workmen starting drilling at 6AM and I am not exaggerating. 6AM was the start time. After a long day of walking around on our trip. Each morning we didn't even need an alarm clock. The drilling on other rooms to the side of us and above was enough. The TV we couldn't get full screen. It was a micro screen on 1 corner of the display. The lock for the room we consistently had issues with and took numerous attempts to open the door. To finalise this booking out room wasn't cleaned or made up once. We had no fresh towels or the beds made even though I left the sign to say IM ON AN ADVENTURE. MAKE UP MY ROOM. I can't fault the staff but I feel this hotel for the price we paid then the upcharge when we arrived and the list of issues above. Really ruined our stay in New York. We will not recommend this hotel and will not be coming back.
Banheiro era bom
Quarto muito velho
On the face, it is what it is. It’s one of the lowest cost options you’re going to find right in the heart of Times Square with no frills. Is it luxury, no. Is it fine for the price, yes. I got a recently renovated room and it was fine. Was there noticeable corners cut, yes - but it was clean, the mattress was decent and the bathroom/shower was good.
Biggest cons was no AC (and if you turned the fan on, it was blowing hot even if the heat was off) and walls were VERY thin. Bed frame was also a little flimsy, but again, mattress was good.
Staff was great, there was construction but it really didn’t bother me, and again, amazing location.
Местоположение и персонал
Шум от ремонта
Good location, comfortable bed, sheets & towels all clean. Guys in reception (not check in staff) all polite and helpful. Check in more functional than welcoming
Building works outside our door at 7.00am, lifts blocked off so they could skim (plaster) walls, stains on walls, seat & floor, electric blinds only raise half way. Out of 4 bedside lights only 1 worked, No glasses for water, no bedside cabinets / tables for cups or glasses (if they did provide). Small shelf fixed between bed for telephone (didn't work anyway) falling off wall. No USB charging points. This was supposed to be a refurbished room but was apparently started before / during COVID and the management didn't like was a mix of old and new (18th floor). Benefits with booking - Drinks bottle (for use at the 'hydration centre', free calls home, 25% Disc city tour, return of deposit on check out (hotel says wait up to 20 days), free use of exercise equipment etc - Not available, don't do any more etc etc
The staff were the absolute highlight of our stay - shout out to Gene for always looking out for our family when we were going in and out of the hotel! The location was the absolute best.
The ‘Premium King Room - Manhattan Floor’ that we stayed in on the 18th floor was comfortable but upon arrival, the floors were dirty & the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed. I had to use one of the clean towels to mop the floor. We just got off a super long flight so we didn’t want to further delay things by waiting for someone to come back to clean the room.
The shower door kept getting stuck & was always a mission to open and close.
The other thing was the renovations that were going on upstairs before 7am every morning. It felt like the work was happening in our room. That’s how loud it was. We never got to sleep in as it was always really loud.
The rooms aren’t soundproof. We could hear everything happening in the room next door as well as the hallway.
The last thing that really got us was the room temperature. I get that it’s cold outside but the heaters were on full blast. When we asked the staff if we could lower the temperature in our room, we were told that it was centrally heated and that a fan would be sent up to our room as we’re unable to control the temperature ourselves. But the fan never came even after requesting it multiple times. It was just lucky we spent most of our time outside of the hotel so we weren’t suffocating inside the hot room.
If your main priority is being able to step out of the hotel and be in the absolute thick of Times Square within thirty seconds, then this is the spot. You honestly cannot beat the location you’re walking distance to pretty much every Broadway show, and the subway links are right there.
You’re in the middle of Manhattan, so the rooms are tiny. It’s a place to drop your bags, shower, and collapse after walking 20,000 steps around the city. The decor feels a bit dated and could definitely use a refresh, but it was clean enough for a couple of nights.
The biggest thing to know It thats its loud. You’re in the heart of the city that never sleeps, and the hotel doesn't really try to hide that. If you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room on a higher floor or bring a decent pair of earplugs. The location is unbeatable. You save so much time and money on Ubers because you’re already where the action is. It’s not a "relaxing resort" kind of stay but it is practical
The staff were actually lovely and very efficient at check-in, which I really appreciated after a long flight. I’d stay here again, but only if I planned on being out of the room from sunrise to late at night. If you’re looking for a quiet, luxurious retreat, look elsewhere but if you want to be at the center of the chaos, this is a solid, no nonsense choice.
Great location, easy access to restaurants and theaters, bes was comfortable
People talked right outside my door and.it was loud, tub was falling apart,
