The place exceeded our expectations and the location was the best.
Pros:

Location was excellent. Aircon was nice and cold. Staff were very helpful especially Christine and Dockia

Cons:

The price was a bit high (approx $400 per night for a family of 2 adults and 2 small kids)

This place is not worth it, overpriced and dirty
Pros:

From the moment we entered the place, it was not as advertised it is very obvious that they are leaning in to the location, which isn't that great in the first place.

Cons:

The room was dirty, the door didn't open properly, the balcony was conjoined to 2 other balcony's so completely unsafe, the entire experience was awful, apart from the fact the room got sold and I was able to get a refund.

Even though it was central to everything - Rude staff = unpleasant, expensive stay!
Pros:

Very central to everything.
Bathroom was very modern.

Cons:

Unfriendly, rude staff, especially the one woman who told us she did not trust guests! What? That was after I asked her why I needed to sign a form that we do not smoke.
No remote to switch on air conditioner. We had to phone reception when we wanted it switched on or off. The reason - we might steal the remote.
Other guests were allowed to repack their suitcases right in front of the one and only lift.
Even though the room was vacant, we were not allowed to check in until a certain hour which was 3pm (we were 2 hours early), and it was only after we told the rude receptionist that we needed to use the toilet (having just flown in from overseas), did she reluctantly let us in. There was no other toilet facilities available to us.
Check-out was at 10 am the next morning. We asked to leave a bit later, because we did not need to get to the cruise terminal until later, but we were only given 20 min extra. Expensive stay for only 18 hours.

Very disappointing
Cons:

The contrast in attitude of the front desk during my second stay was starkly different to my first stay.
While the front desk staff were welcoming and friendly during my first stay just a few weeks prior, for reasons that I cannot fathom, went out of their way to nag, harangue and harass me morning noon and night, during my second stay.
All guests deserve to be treated with respect and grace….it is basic courtesy. Their attitude towards me was inexcusable, and for this reason I give a very low rating. In addition my room was never serviced during my entire stay. Under no circumstances did I book a self-clean room, so again do not understand why housekeeping omitted to clean it.
I will never ever stay at YEHS again or recommend to anyone. It goes without saying that the staff need to get a grip and treat all their guests with decency.

Handy location, accomodating staff, clean rooms with comfy beds.
Pros:

The YEHS is in a super handy location, close to the shops and especially the QVB. We were upgraded to a room with a smal balcony, such a lovely bonus. The bed was comfy and our whole stay was enjoyable.

Cons:

We had asked to check in an hour early and we unable to. This was a minor annoyance. Staff were very accomodating in keeping our luggage safe so we could leave and attend our function. I missed having some of the hotel extras in the room like a shower cap and a flannel.

Good overall
Pros:

Great location, easy to walk around, near public transport and restaurants. The bed is very comfortable, and the shower is lovely.

Cons:

Check-out time is 10am, which I think is taking the piss a bit, even if we can leave bags at reception.
To change the AC temperature in your room, you need to phone reception. Although it’s not the end of the world, it is inconvenient as you might not know the exact temperature you want until you try it out a bit.

Pros:

I will never ever stay here again. The change in staff attitude, within just a matter of weeks from my first stay over Xmas, was startling . My first stay all the front staff were welcoming, friendly and treated guests as one would expect to be treated, with grace and courtesy. However on my second stay the staff could not have been more uncooperative if they had tried. I was incessantly hounded, harassed, nagged and harangued by all the staff on the front desk, morning noon and night. I pointed out that it was no way to treat guests, however it clearly fell on deaf ears. Their attitude was inexcusable and I sincerely hope that no other guests are treated similarly.
In addition my room was not serviced once during my three day stay….I did not book a self-clean room so it was unexpected, and extremely disappointing.

Cons:

I did not like the bad-mannered staff, or lack of housekeeping. Inexcusable
