The staff were fabulous , the rooms were well appointed, bed was extremely comfy. The rooms were in pristine condition and the amenities were top notch, not to mention in room dining service was amazing.
Only a slight criticism but getting phone calls repeatedly asking if I’d like the room made up whilst working, despite indicating DND.
I understand this may be common hotel practice in this area now but I did find it slightly detracted from the experience, especially as a five star hotel.
The location is great , all the staff are helpful from the valet to the front desk .

The hotel is very well located in the upscale Msheireb district, within easy walking distance of excellent restaurants and cafes, museums, and Souq Waqif.
The hotel’s Chinese restaurant Liang is outstanding and truly world class.
Service is inconsistent. When it’s good, it’s very good, but when it’s bad, it’s unacceptably poor for a hotel of this standard, mainly due to uneven staff training.
Special thanks to Mr. Promise at breakfast, who was consistently excellent, and to Mr. Kadhem, the duty manager, who went out of his way to resolve issues and make up for the shortcomings of less experience dryer staff. Their professionalism made a noticeable difference.
We spent a long afternoon trying to reach the concierge to arrange transportation for our family within the city. Despite numerous calls over a four hour period, there was no answer and no call back, even after contacting reception and being assured that someone would follow up, which did not happen.
Breakfast service was quite inconsistent. One morning it was handled well, while another was a complete breakdown: our order took over an hour to arrive and, when it finally did, it was incorrect. The staff member attending our table appeared overwhelmed and not sufficiently trained for the role. While his effort was evident, it was clear that he had absolutely no experience.
Housekeeping was also unreliable. Requests were only fulfilled more than two hours after repeated calls and reminders. Basic details were overlooked, including lotion being placed in the shower instead of shower gel and only decaffeinated coffee being restocked.
Individually these issues may seem minor, but collectively they negatively impacted the overall experience. Having stayed at many Mandarin Oriental properties worldwide, the service here did not meet the brand’s usual standards.
