Viel versprochen jedoch überhaupt nicht den Erwartungen entsprochen!

Der Empfangsbereich und das Restaurant waren sehr schön.

Cons:

Leider entsprach das Zimmer in keiner Weise unseren Erwartungen für solch eine 4 Sterne Bewertung. Schon beim Betreten des Zimmers fielen uns Sauberkeitsmängel auf. Auf der Rückseite des Bettes waren Staubablagerungen festzustellen. Und das Bad war in einem nicht mehr zeitgemäßen Zustand und der Abfluss der Badewanne/ Dusche war stark verrostet oder nicht gesäubert. Nachdem duschen war mehr Wasser auf dem Boden als in der Wanne weil die Duschabtrennung nicht als solches funktioniert hat.

Pros:

Zimmer war schön, neu renoviert. Dusche und Toilette jeweils mit Glastür. Zwei Waschbecken. Nicht wirklich groß aber ausreichend für paar Tage. Großer Balkon, aber direkt zur Straße hin. Rollladen vorhanden, ist auch nötig im Sommer bei Sonneneinstrahlung ganzen Nachmittag. Wellness Bereich sah gut aus, indoor pool ok, nicht groß zum Schwimmen.

Cons:

Klimaanlage fehlt. Sind um 9 Uhr zum Frühstück, da waren einige Platten schon leer. Z. B. Käseplatte, Weißwürste wurden nicht nachgefüllt, Brötchen auch nicht. Auswahl ok, nichts besonderes. Qualität durchschnittlich. Keine frischen Säfte, zwei günstige Marmeladen. Sehr lange auf Schalen für Müsli warten müssen. Teller wurden nicht abgeräumt, haben sich auf allen Tischen gestapelt. Wurden erst nach der Frühstückszeit abgeräumt. Kein Personal vorhanden. Am Vormittag auf der Terrasse über eine Stunde gesessen, keine Servicekraft kam. Erst auf Nachfrage kam eine sehr mürrische Bedienung, die nur widerwillig Getränke Bestellung aufgenommen hat. Service für ein Wellness Hotel dieser Kategorie ungenügend.

Tolles Wellnesshotel zum günstigen Preis
Pros:

Tolles Wellnesshotel mit guter Zimmerausstattung, schöner großer Wellnessbereich mit unglaublich vielen schönen Ruheräumen, Schwimmbad mit Massagedüsen und Sprudeldüsen, Finn. Sauna, Biosauna, Infrarotsauna und Dampfbad, sehr gutes reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet und gutes Abendessen.

Cons:

Etwas abgelegen, außerhalb von Ortenburg, dafür aber sehr ruhig

Da der Besitzer im Juni gewechselt hat, hat das mit der Massage nicht geklappt! Wir wurden hingestellt das wir falsch sind, aber es hat sich rausgestellt das wir doch richtig waren und sie die Leute entlassen haben

If you're interested in time travel, stay in the old building of Wellnesshotel Zum Koch. It felt like stepping back at least 70 years. The décor was painfully outdated, the facilities were worn, and the entire building resembled a low-budget hotel from decades ago, with a few cheap cosmetic attempts to modernize it rather than a genuine wellness retreat.

Our room had no air conditioning—only an old, noisy fan that produced far more noise than cooling. Instead of a proper refrigerator, the room had a small insulated cooling box—an outdated solution that didn't cool anything despite making constant noise. To keep it cold, we even had to ask the reception for ice, just like in the old days.

During our stay, the weather was extremely hot. Without air conditioning, we had no choice but to leave the windows open. Unfortunately, the hotel is surrounded by farmland, making this impossible to enjoy. At times, the smell of fertilizer was overwhelming, and countless flies entered the room. I barely slept during our two-night stay because of the heat, the flies, and the constant noise. The outside temperature reached 37°C. To make matters worse, our room was located directly above the restaurant, where loud conversations, laughter, and cigarette smoke from guests continued late into the night. We had booked this hotel to relax and unwind, but instead we experienced constant discomfort.

The mattress and pillows perfectly matched the overall condition of the hotel—old and extremely uncomfortable. The shower cabin in the room was so unbelievably small that it was impossible even to bend down and wash your feet comfortably.

The wellness area was equally disappointing. The swimming pool was visibly dirty and full of dead flies. The saunas themselves were in good condition, probably because hardly anyone used them in such hot weather. The shower heads in the spa were heavily clogged, causing the water to spray in every direction except where it should.
