We liked: Location. The cafe. The pool. Perfect for kids. Great for people like me that don’t like the traditional camping.
The frogs. It was unbearable to fall asleep, but it’s not something the hotel can control.
L’ambiance est top, le panorama est magnifique rien à dire
Unique experience felt like going to kids camp.
It took awhile to haul my stuff from parking to airstream
Great location. Stylish communal building.
We got a pretty good price in the 300s for a 2 night stay in an Airstream, and I'd do it again. The downsides: the check-in lady came off a little snobby and didn't give us our water/bag of wood and did not show us the ropes, as the man at check-in did with other guests, not sure why. The heat was really loud at night, and the YouTube HVAC directions didn't quite match up with reality - the thermostat by the stove didn't do much. The late check-out benefit for Hilton Gold was a push from 10 to 11 am, so not really much of a benefit.
The location - still about an hour drive to Yosemite - if I ever return to the park, I'll stay in the Valley, maybe doing a night here on the way, or just as a getaway/reunion with family would be super here.
We saw so many families grilling out and getting more elaborate with food, and it looked like fun. The airstream was really clean and nice, although the futon is a bit tight for 2 kiddos - would not have worked for us if they were any bigger. The shower and bathroom were surprisingly roomy. We bought our own s'mores materials and wine at the nearby store and were able to make some trades with other guests. The granola and coffee were pretty good, as was the pizza and tea. The family movie was good for the kids but hard to see because it was still pretty light out. Wi-fi was mostly reliable, which was good because it was an SOS area. The pool looked nice, but it was a bit too cold. Kids enjoyed playing the games and hanging out with other children, so it was great to see them getting some analog time.
Fabulous stay. Great location for Yosemite National Park. Staff excellent: very knowledgeable, flexible and super friendly.
During summer months this place is too expensive for what it is, just not a great value. Would not go back
The good:
We did the adventure tent which was nice and quaint itself. Live music was nice and family vibe.
The bad:
- No hot water in the shower and men’s room didn’t have shampoo
- Ordered a grill kit, and after we bought they informed us that the fire wood wouldn’t be hot enough to grill, so we had to buy an additional charcoal bag.
- pool was small and overcrowded, didn’t get to use it
- bar drinks come out in very small cups
- golf cart drives by the tent multiple times throughout the night, woke us up
We didn’t let these things ruin our trip, but at certain price point you expect more.
Great atmosphere and kids friendly
Not so clean and a little pricey
Beautiful property with a large, nice landscape! We stayed in an Adventure Tent and it was very spacious. Each one comes with its own outdoor fireplace, and extra wood is available on site for an additional charge. The shared bathroom (the tents don't have their own bathrooms, only the airstreams do) was very clean — not many people use it since the property has way more airstreams than tents — and there were always clean towels. It didn't feel like a typical campground bathroom. The cafe/bar/restaurant on site had good options for breakfast, plus bigger meals too. During our stay the weather was a bit cold, but the tent comes with heated blankets that kept us warm at night. We had a very pleasant stay.
