This is the first hotel I have ever rated a full 10/10, and it absolutely deserves it. Taverna del Capitano is a third- and fourth-generation family-run hotel, and you can feel that legacy in every detail — from the warm, personal welcome to the effortless service that makes you feel part of their family.

The Michelin-starred restaurant is extraordinary, with every meal crafted under the vision of the family’s own award-winning chef. Every dish tells a story of the family and the Amalfi Coast — elegant, authentic, and unforgettable.

The hotel itself is perfectly located right on the beach in the charming seaside town of Nerano, which has a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere and an impressive culinary scene (there are two Michelin-starred restaurants in town). The setting is intimate and peaceful — ideal for anyone who loves waking up to the sea right outside their window.

If there’s one “champagne problem,” it’s that the waves crash quite loudly on the rocky beach below the rooms at night. But honestly, that’s a small price to pay for falling asleep to the rhythm of the Mediterranean.

A true gem on the Amalfi Coast — refined, genuine, and unforgettable.

We received the warmest welcome by the amazing staff of this family run business that brings together a renowned restaurant with a more recently added resort. Nothing could have been better. Notably, breakfast was superb, with a mix of premium quality local products and expressly cooked dishes.
