Amazing weekend
Pros:

Amazing weekend, great food and service. Even made us sausage rolls for lunch despite kitchen being closed. Loved every bit of our stay

Pros:

L'établissement propose un vue incroyable ! Il est parfait pour un séjour au calme. La chambre est confortable. Le personnel est à l'écoute et très professionnel. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux.

Visually stunning but otherwise a bit "meh"
Pros:

It's a hotel for the Instagram generation. Situated near the top of a mountain with a challenging drive up Draga di Lovrana certainly provides stunning views and a visual feast, but it a little lacking in substance. Our room had a terrace overlooking the sea and just below the pool (which we didn't try) and it was nice enough (and certainly spotlessly clean) but despite being easily the most expensive room of our trip it had the smallest bed and was the least well equipped. There's no wifi which is understandable given the location, but also no tea\coffee making facilities or room service which is less so given the luxury standard the hotel aims for. I had to wander round the restaurant mid afternoon trying to find someone to make us a coffee and reception is only manned part-time.

We stayed here primarily for the Michelin-starred restaurant whose food we thought reflected the hotel. It was visually stunning - so if you like taking photos of your food highly recommended - and there was nothing wrong with it but it wasn't that memorable; we certainly went to better restaurants and hotels on this trip.

Where the hotel did score was breakfast on the terrace overlooking that stunning view. It's a great way to start the day, although next up will be the long drive back down that mountain! It's probably not worth the drive and cost unless you're going to the restaurant, and the restaurant is best for those who want to post pics on social media.
