Excellent hotel with a perfect location and amazing views. The food was delicious, the rooms were clean, and the staff were very friendly. Everything was well organized and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!
- The Excellent Location at Rumassala Mountain with Nice Sea View.
- Very Clean , Greenery environment with clean Air.
- Jungle Beach is nearby.
- Good Breakfast and Milk rice really nice.
- Manager, Ranjith is very helpful.
- Front Desk staff should have more idea about Booking.com facilities guest entitled. We have wrong information during the check-in , but it has been corrected while check out by the Manager.
The venue is excellent
They do not have any room services at night, even getting a water bottle at night was a hassle.
Location, view, staff, clean room and positive vibe
We had a wonderful stay at Agnus Unawatuna. The hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views of Galle city, the coastline, Rumassala beach, and the ocean from the sea-view rooms, lobby, and rooftop area with its bar and small pool.
Although the hotel does not have direct beach access, they provide a complimentary tuk-tuk service to the entrance of Jungle Beach in Unawatuna, which was very convenient.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and pleasant throughout our stay. The staff was friendly and attentive. A special compliment to the staff member who delivered our in-room dining order on 22 May 2026 — he also extended excellent hospitality during breakfast service at the restaurant and to the staff member who handled our bags.
The hotel’s location and elevated viewpoint provide a unique perspective overlooking the Rumassala side of Galle Fort, the fishing harbor, and Galle city to the right-hand side.
There is a small parking area available, but it was sufficient to accommodate the guests during our stay.
No direct Bach a was beach but I knew that in advance, relatively small car park
Absolutely loved the hotel! When we arrived we were given cold face cloths and a cold drink which was a lovely touch and well needed! The staff were amazing and very attentive. We had a sea view room which we loved! Everything we needed with a beautiful view.
Only that we couldn't stay longer!!
Great location. Foods are delicious. Great service from the staff 10/10
The location is really beautiful and worth to money. The staff is very frendly amd helpfull.
The foods are need to be more spicy for the sri lankans. It would be nice to ask form the local visiters about the spicy level
We had a great stay. The breakfast was definitely the best part. The place was clean and beautiful, and the staff were very friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and worth the money.
Nothing
First of all, I want to mention that this hotel was the last stop of our trip around Sri Lanka, so by that point we had already experienced the service and hospitality in many other places across the island.
The positives: a beautiful ocean view from the room and a spacious room size.
The negatives: the staff (except for one woman at the reception, unfortunately I didn’t catch her name). The staff genuinely seemed not to care about guests at all. People walked around looking as if you owed them something. We had gotten used to friendly and welcoming people everywhere else on the island — but not here. The kitchen staff spoke as if they were doing you a favor simply by being there.
I would also like to specifically mention the breakfasts — they were greasy, very greasy. After a week of those breakfasts, an unprepared stomach might suffer 😁
No one here smiles at you; the staff simply do their jobs with completely emotionless faces.
Another major issue was the total lack of soundproofing. We stayed on the 3rd floor and could clearly hear screaming children from the corridor and the neighboring room at 11 PM, conversations near the reception, and other noise. When I asked to be moved somewhere quieter, I was only told, “Sorry, everything is occupied.” We came to relax, not to listen to screaming and arguments.
The room itself was not bad, except for one strange detail: from the toilet/shower area, everything was visible into the bedroom because the staff had installed the curtain backwards. As a result, you could never fully block the view into the bathroom, and people in the bedroom could still see you showering or using the toilet, which was uncomfortable.
To me, this place felt heavily overrated purely because of its ocean view. So if you are considering this hotel, think carefully about how much you are willing to hear everything happening around you — and do not expect the same level of hospitality you may find in other parts of Sri Lanka.
Excellent property uphill and near jungle beach . View from terrace was gorgeous . Food great and facilities were good .
Superb location view was breathtaking
