Séjour plus que parfait
Pros:

Accueil à notre arrivée très sympathique dans ce magnifique hôtel qui a une vue sublime sur la jungle environnante et la mer. Petits déjeuner et repas au restaurant très bons. Les chambres sont modernes, spacieuses avec une vue sublime. le tuck tuck électrique de l'hôtel nous a emmené à la plage de jungle beach. Le chauffeur nous a donné au départ une serviette de plage et une bouteille d'eau et au retour une petite brochette de fruit glacé. Nous avons apprécié ces gestes. Et pour terminer, il y a une superbe piscine sur le toit et un bar pour déguster le cocktail du soir.
En conclusion, nous avons passé un séjour parfait dans cet hôtel au rapport qualité / prix très honorable qui a du personnel très très sympathique.

Dit kleinschalig hôtel (12 kamers) is rustig gelegen. De bar op de bovenste verdieping heeft een mooi terras met zicht over de baai. Mooie ruime kamer en vriendelijk personeel.

Cons:

Wat ik lastig vond was de ontbijtkeuze die moest gemaakt worden.
Ik heb graag een eitje en yoghurt maar dit zat in 2 verschillende ontbijtkeuzes.
Vers fruit en vers vruchtensap werden wel zeer gesmaakt.
De bedden waren zeer hard. Leuk voor wie dat graag heeft maar voor ons mag het wat zachter. .

Beautiful quite area, close to Unawatuna and Gale Fort, perfect location in lush green hills with ocean view. Beautiful infinity pool with bar on rooftop.

Comfortable stay, gorgeous views, lovely staff!
Pros:

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay at this hotel on the hilltop near Unawatuna beach. After going to the beach a couple of times, I definitely appreciated the fact that it was not directly on the beach - we had beautiful views over the water and it was peaceful and quiet. The room was large and bed was very comfortable...I generally don't sleep too well, and wake up for the slightest thing, but had 3 good night's rest. The staff were superb, friendly and so helpful. The food caters for foreigners, so the first night we found it quite bland, but after having a small word with the staff, they made us proper "local" food and it was DELICIOUS. The E-tuktuk shuttle to Jungle Beach was great - and the ice pop on the return home was just the loveliest detail.

Cons:

It's (relatively) expensive to get a tuk tuk BACK to the hotel, because of the steep climb up the hill! (Not the fault of the hotel). Definitely not fond of the type of music being played on the rooftop/poolside! Note: we didn't end up using the pool, so didn't ask for the music to be changed - I am sure the staff would've obliged had we requested it.

Privileged view of Galle and its bay
Pros:

Agnus Unawatuna is perched up on Rumassala and looks out over a sweep of coastline with Galle and the Indian Ocean in the centre. That is the first thing that strikes you, the second is the little jar filled with sublime kalu dodol sweets. The moment is heavenly.

If the view from the room is stunning, then the view from the infinity pool is even more so. The jungle opens out below you, Galle Fort in the distance and the Peace Pagoda stands majestically over Jungle Beach.

The rooms tend towards modern and clean-lined, a big change from all our jungle eco-lodges, but very clean and well-maintained. The view is the centrepiece, so the room doesn't need to be any bigger or more fussily-designed. In any case the mattresses and bed linen are ideal.

Breakfast is odered the night before and is then served on the terrace. The Sri Lankan breakfast options were wonderful: brown rice flour for the string hoppers, a wonderful fish curry and some of the best papaya we had on the journey, which is saying a lot. It was hard to pull ourselves away.

To get to the beaches, or to Galle, you need transport of some kind. But the payoff for that is a beach view experience that is hard to top. Agnus was a great conclusion to a superb trip, with the right anmount of last day leisure and it left us wanting more.
