We stayed 3 days here. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. We had a pool villa which was just fabulous! My wife and daughters loved the massages. I cannot give it 5 stars because of how uncomfortable the pool chairs were. The loungers had no cushioning and the plastic lawn chairs were aged, stained, and some were cracked. I was planning on spending time at the pool reading a book while the rest of the family got massages, but literally could not sit on the lounge chairs for more than 20 minutes. Management needs to upgrade these and buy some cushions. It's a simple solution and inexpensive solution when all else is good!

We enjoyed Backwater Resort very much. We stayed 1 evening before an overnight houseboat trip. We enjoyed the resort so much we returned for another day just relaxing. The staff are all super accommodating and everyone greets you in passing. 5 star service. The rooms are done very well with real wood furnishing. It is isolated from the city but so quiet and relaxing. Finally, great lake views.

I was told that dinner and breakfast was included but at restaurant, I had to pay for the dinner.

Extremely friendly staff who greets you each time they sees you. And they are very accomodating, helping me to book taxis and tuk tuk for my excursions around the area.

The rooms are big and clean, very value for money.

However, I would love to have them renting out bicycles for people to cycle out of the compound instead of just within the resort.

Property in great location, right on backwaters. Room was excellent and new like condition. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

It’s unique lakefront location allowed us to access houseboats and smaller shikaras from the hotel itself. The staff (reception, restaurant, and housekeeping) were extremely helpful, courteous, and efficient. We stayed in the Premium and Elite rooms that were tastefully appointed with intricately carved wooden furniture alongside modern lighting and appliances. The property has a fabulous pool that was really popular with the guests. Breakfast and dinner buffets at the restaurant were delicious and amazing in variety. The grounds and surroundings were lush with local foliage and tropical flowering plants. A few turkeys and geese on the property were quite intriguing especially for kids. Very family friendly resort.

In terms of the property itself, no issues. A lovely property in a very tranquil location. However, in terms of the treatment by the staff, and facilities on offer, terrible. Little that was offered on the Expedia site was in fact available, and the excuse was that because it was low season, such things (including the spa, which was one key reason for booking here) were not available.

The property is beautiful. However, a lot of it is still under construction. Nowhere on the hotel's website was this indicated or in any way communicated to us. We weren't told that our suit was adjacent to one that was under construction. It wasn't a good surprise! We spent a lot of time contacting the front desk because the services that you expect to receive at any other hotel (at this price) weren't provided or things that were promised weren't delivered (toilet paper, bottled water and additional bed). Our suit wasn't cleaned the second day of our stay because the cleaning crew was too busy and they came to do so close to bedtime.

The restaurant and the staff were fabulous! Great food. I eat gluten/dairy free and they were very helpful. However, they don't serve alcoholic beverages. Again, nowhere on the hotel's website was this indicated or in any way communicated to us.

There aren't any amenities for kids here. The "playroom" has a couple of board games. Don't plan on catching an Uber from here.

If you are looking for a beautiful location with excellent customer service (until they get their act together at this one), I recommend traveling down to the The Raviz Ashtamudi instead.

Wonderful trip, great for kids and adults alike. Can include more activities that would make it amazing. Spa massages are worth a trial too.

Fantastic luxurious new build hotel. Beautiful pool. Great staff and excellent value and tasty food. Wish we’d had time to stay longer. Upon our art st check in the receptionist arranged a two hour boat trip through The backwaters
