Ella Red Rock

The host became part of our family! Incredible mountain views, welcoming, happy atmosphere.

Les hôtes ont été hyper accueillants et pleins de bons conseils, toujours prêts à rendre service (laundry, location scooter, conseils visites, accès restaurant, réservation tuk tuk...), la chambre avait une très jolie vue, c'était calme ... Nous avons passé un très bon séjour !

Heerlijke plek boven aan berg met uitzicht op waterval. Als je dit aangeeft komt iemand je aan de mainroad ophalen zodat je het steilere stuk niet hoeft te rijden. Hele vriendelijke eigenaar heerlijk ontbijt en echt de moeite waard. Als je van een beetje beweging houdt dan loop, over de trappen, binnen 45 minuten naar Ella

I made a booking after reading all information on the website. It looked good and convenient to Ella.
Well, the trip up the mountain to reach the Red Rock was positively dangerous! It was slippery, muddy, very narrow and steep. To top it off it was raining!
I arrived in a trembling mess and found that the Red Rock was dirty, smelly, had not mosquito nets and I was stuck there!!
There were no restaurants I could access, so I ate fried rice for my evening meals (at an additional charge).
At least the breakfasts were good, and the manager tried to do his best. But he informed me that he slept on a dirty couch in the dining room! After two days I escaped but I had again booked with Whatif only to find that the next hotel had changed names and owners!
I await my refund…….

The property was fine but there were two things that stood outabout our stay. Firstly it was a quiet location with fabulous views. Secondly and most significantly, the couple that ran the hotel where absolutely charming and extremely helpful. They made a meal for us when we arrived which was delicious and the helped arrange a tuk tuk for a morning of touring. We found all the people we dealt with in Sri Lanka were welcoming and nice, but this couple stood out as extra special.

Great hotel in a wonderful location. Rooms are large and spacious with a breathtaking view of Ella Rock from your balcony. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious.

Hotellet ligger på høyden over byen, stille og rolig. Et vertskap som virkelig stod på!
En litt kronglete vei opp er eneste som trekker ned. Ypperlig for de som ikke vil bo midt i maset nede i sentrum

Nous avons passé 2 nuits au Ella Red Rock, nous avons pu profiter d’une vue magnifique sur la montagne avec cascade.
La chambre était très grande, propre et disposait d’un frigo.
L’accueil du staff a été très agréable.
Le petit déjeuner très bon, nous avons même pu choisir entre différentes formules.
Nous recommandons.

Ella red rock was great. the guys running it went out of there way to make sure everything went smooth for us. Our starter in our tuk tuk broke on our way and they took care of it for us in under an hour! Fed us at wierd hours upon our request even delivered the food to our balcony. Food was good! View was amazing. rooms spacious. No bugs. It was hard to drive your own vehicle up the final short diry road but that the price for that view of ella rock. Only suggestion is get really exact directions from them personally as maps will only get you close.

Sehr nettes Hotel mit aufmerksamen Personal. Große Zimmer mit tollem Blick in die Berge. Für kleines Geld ist man in 5 min in Ella.
