Fabulous all round. Room and hotel beautifully renovated. Lovely room, very comfortable with thoughtful touches (loved the sweets bowl in the room). Breakfast was superb. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar area has a great vibe. For us the hotel was ideally located to the theatre. We’ll be back - highly recommend
Nothing not to like
The location was fantastic, right in the town. The room was light and roomy, beautiful clean facilities and welcoming staff. And breakfast was delicious and generous.
This is our 4th visit to the property and it did not disappoint. Staff are friendly and helpful, beds are comfortable, rooms spacious and clean, breakfasts are fabulous & evening meal are good value & delicious. Plus a great location.
Nothing

Close to town with parking . Very nice staff . Very clean . Most enjoyable stay
The breakfast was excellent
Great location for shops, theatre, bars and the hills. On site parking, The bar is used by locals as well as hotel residents. Great real ales.
Nothing not to like.
The hotel is very central with a carpark, opposite the best Indian Restaurant, the staff are very welcoming and very friendly, the breakfast is excellent, a great bar with good choice of beers
The hotel is very nice with a cosy, family run vibe. Nice rooms, great food, bar has loads of local ales, and perfect location for shops, local pubs and restaurants, and for getting up into the hills. Stayed and / or eaten here a few times now, am sure I will be back again!
Few issues getting the shower to work, but all got resolved.
Had high expectations of breakfast based on other reviews and wasn't disappointed, food and service both excellent! Stayed here to do the Malvern Hills end to end hike, had dinner at the hotel at the end of the day and the pie was excellent and exactly what we needed after 10 miles!
Stay was excellent so I'm being picky, but the room was very warm even with the heating off.
The Great Malvern is one of those classic long-established British hotels that combines quirky staircase layouts, enjoyable food and excellent beer. The staff are cheerfully humorous (a local friend tells me that if you've really made it, the landlord starts insulting you when you walk in). Have returned and would return again.
The placard listing the hotel's features includes "crappy carpark", but if all eight spaces are taken it's 200m walk to a cheap public car park with EV charging (slow and reasonably priced, great for overnight stays).
Shower controls needed maintenance - mentioned to staff
The room was large and the bathroom was (almost) the largest I have seen in a hotel. Of course the bed was comfortable and we had a large TV and two chairs. (How often do you find hotel rooms with only one chair?) Special touches were present aplenty. It's often the small things that count; in this case a box of tissues and a selection of sweets. Of course the usual things were there, coffee and tea making facilities, fridge, iron and board, safe. The bar was welcoming and comfortable. Staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Perhaps the highlight was the extensive breakfast menu with some items rarely seen on the menus of 5* hotels. Top marks in every category!
Nothing!
